"Hôtel propre et personnels bien."

"Once upon a time, this must have been a wonderful hotel, but it is no longer close to a five-star standard. The rating must have been granted long ago and clearly has not been reassessed recently. There is an overriding sense that the property is cutting every corner to manage costs, and it is evident that their focus is on the restaurant and local clientele rather than their overnight guests. While the bed and linens were excellent, the room itself was in dire need of renovation. The layout was awkward, poorly lit, and there were cobwebs. The furniture was neglected, watermarked, and faded—a far cry from the 'charming antiques' they pretended to be, looking instead like castoffs from a flea market. The bathroom was outdated and suffered from poor drainage. The surrounding grounds, which could be spectacular, are in desperate need of maintenance, with much of the outdoor furniture either weathered or broken. While the dinner was excellent, the main course portion was comically sparse. On our first night, we were relegated to a secondary room lacking any ambiance, rather than being seated in the beautiful conservatory dining room. This first-impression experience discouraged us from returning to dine for the remainder of our stay."

"Nice breakfast, modest rooms, helpful and attentive staff. Good value for money. In a rather unattractive area but walking distance from a lovely place with good restaurants and atmosphere."

"We love this hotel , this was a return visit and it did not disappoint. Love the food , the staff, the gardens, the room - everything. The outdoor spaces especially are stunning . I look forward to coming back in the future ."

"The villa was quite pleasant with a lovely pool and splendid views. We had a nice stay and no real complaints other than the whole place was a little tired and looking like “end of season” condition. Parasols broken and lashed up with shot cords. No cushions for outside plastic patio furniture. Broken shower head (quickly replaced). Just a bit basic and scruffy sums it up. Two things did irritate. Firstly, the host seemed quite annoyed because we arrived 1/2 hour early. Offered to wait in the car until appointed hour but no reply. Secondly , for two nights there was very loud music and drunken shouting from next door villa. Not the owners fault but very unwelcome. "

"My room smell really bad when I walked it, moldy and lots of humidity. I turned the AC on immediately and by time I came back from dinner was hoping it was gone but the actual AC was very old and bad smell was coming out of it I have to turned it off. Is a shame bse the property is nice but the rooms need a makeover for sure! "
