A bit out of the way but the rooms are sparkling and the price is very reasonable
Great room size, quiet, staff always helpful, very clean, large shower with great pressure and hot water. Comfortable bed! El centro is about 7 minutes away with many restaurants and coffee shops.
10 min walk to Zocalo. No dining facilities other than very few street vendors. Area around seems like old, closed businesses or homes. Hotel is beautifully renovated & staff are very friendly & helpful. Neighbourhood needs to be restored to make this hotel work. While great value for stay, next visit I would stay closer to Zocalo.
Location was good and within walking distance of El Centro. The Internet was strong and stable. Shower as always was hot and strong. Bed comfortable. The room was extremely hot with no fan to circulate the air. Opening the small window allowed the noise level to be high. The room was tiny.
I requested an upgrade, as I have stayed here many times before. The desk person snidely said only if I paid extra? He could have been pleasant and said sorry, but the hotel was full. It was not full. It was 12 USD to upgrade and not a large amount for customer appreciation. I will consider other options based on declining my request in such an abrupt manner and the heat in the tiny room. I did not sleep well for 2 nights.
The property is nice and the staff very friendly but the street is very ugly, sinister, and lots of trash, I think the hotel owner should clean up and present a better image.
What I personally didn't like was that the beds were so hard, it was like sleeping on a board. I was on the 3rd floor, no elevator, but thats OK. Didn't get clean towels after 1st night, ok. But the bed, absolutely horrible.
