Quiet, safe, beautiful area. Short walk thru the golf course brings you to a hidden gem of a marina, cafes, shops and dolphins!! Oh and the beach!! Lovely accomodations. No front desk, but absolutely amazing communication with Sonia via WhatsApp. I travel often and Villas Picula and Puerto Aventuras have stolen my heart. Already planning a return trip!

This was a very nice place to stay during my vacation to Mexico. Within close walking distance to both the main drag of Puerto Adventuras and the checkpoint entrance where you could easily catch a taxi or meet a tour bus. I never met Sofia but she was wonderful to deal with and responded promptly to all of my inquiries and requests. The only criticism I have is that the ceiling fan in my bedroom did not work. No one came to fix it. But overall, a positive experience. I would recommend it to a person or couple traveling to that part of Mexico

Our stay at Picalu Villas was alright. The location was convenient, with a short walk to the bus station, a large grocery store, and the beach. The pool appeared clean, though we didn't use it and the room had nearly all the amenities needed for a long stay, though it lacked beach towels and some salt and pepper. However, a significant drawback was the construction noise from the house next door. The noise began promptly at 8 AM each day, with drilling and jackhammering that was quite disruptive. On the day of our checkout, I informed the host via WhatsApp about the construction and mentioned that it would have been helpful to know about this before our arrival so we could have made alternative arrangements or come prepared with earplugs as I didn’t see any reviews talking about the construction next door when we booked. The host’s response was dismissive, stating it was not their issue. I replied saying that I know there is not anything they can do I just wished they informed us before we got there, which he replied a thumbs-up emoji. This lack of professionalism and concern was disappointing and influenced our decision not to return. If you don’t like construction just outside your window and a host that responds with emojis you might want to consider other accommodations.
