We especially enjoyed the aerial tram, monkeys, sloth and butterfly exhibits — the tropical landscape is magnificent. It is very hot and humid, be sure to swim and stay hydrated. "Ciel y Miel is a beautiful boutique eco-lodge, but it’s important to know what to expect. It’s located inside a national park, so the final road is dirt and very remote. You park at the lower entrance and the staff drives you to the rooms. Our first night was an adjustment after a long drive. The property was very quiet (we visited during the low season), and the jungle sounds took some getting used to. By morning, we realized how peaceful and beautiful it really was. "We loved our time at this property and would definitely recommend others to visit during their time in Panama. Sure, the lodges are a little rustic in places but they are perfectly comfortable. The setting in the lake is beautiful, with a great pool, free kayaking facilities and places to completely switch off. I loved how calm and relaxing the place was. "Credit Card was skimmed at the Marina Hotel/restaurant. Only used this particular card in one place during my days in Panama...at check-in, and to pay for a pizza at the restaurant. Had unauthorized charges less than 3 hours later."

"Unfortunately never found the hotel as the map locator was 15 miles away. Looked for an hour on the map locator and couldn't find. Hopefully they fixed it now. DO NOT GO TO PORTOBELO village to find this hotel. Maps wrong."
