Pulford Castle This small motte and bailey castle is believed to have been built around 1100 when it defended the strategic river crossing and marshy ground around what is now Pulford Brook. Today it seems inconsequential standing as it does behind Pulford church and away from the modern Chester to Wrexham road. http://www.castlewales.com/pulford.html

My room was clean and spacious. There was a chair in the room in poor condition that needed to be removed and replaced but otherwise it was comfortable. There is an excellent gym and a small but good hotel pool. I didn't use the spa but there is one at the hotel. Parking is expensive at GBP12 overnight ...
