"This is our fourth trip to Colony 1 at Sea Mount. We stayed there in order to get to the volcano when it was erupting. It worked out well since the condo is about 30 minutes from the volcano. This hotel is very remote with a great beach, hot tub and pool. Do your food shopping before leaving Hilo or Ocean View. We enjoyed it very much, but if you are looking for a lot of shopping or night life, this hotel is not a good match for you.

This property is within walking distance to Punaluu Black Beach. I visited this beach between 6am-7am in the morning and saw sea turtles swimming in the ocean. This is a perfect secluded spot if one wants privacy.
