Nice landscaping in the hotel, rooms were clean and comfortable bed. However, our mini fridge wasn’t restocked after the first night, and we spent most of the chasing the train to move from one side to the other of the hotel and dinner time was a nightmare since the hotel doesn’t have a functioning buffet and we had to go from one end of the hotel to the beach buffet to have dinner and that was without AC
Overall not bad but beaches are not clean either, a lot of sargazo and cloudy waters

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The food is excellent. So many options to choose from every day. Unfortunately we didn’t have a good experience wth the rooms.
Everything was very good and nicely friendly people only I can complain about the lady of the service in the bar evening she was very mad and the not good behavior.
upscale feeling and treatment from the minute we step foot in the property, the food at the restaurant was excellent and the master chef every night greeted all the tables and spoke to each one of the guests having dinner.
we will definitely go back to enjoy the hotel again.
The good: the food at the buffet was very good after second day/night, first night it was below average but they fixed it and staff was very friendly, great paella and great wine, room was clean and great A/C, great drinks and staff at the bar was very friendly, pool and the beach were great, great coffeshop with icecream and muffins, excellent room service, great sport bar, and nice wildlife view, great.
Special mention to the show staff, they are the best.
The bad: there was not way to make a reservetion at restaurant, everything was the buffet and nobody told us there are remodeling and we had to find our way to the temporary buffet or something, also there were many flies at the temporary buffet location.
The ugly: We mention at the check-in that this was our second visit and the guy said that I am a fool for coming back here, that person may need to be fired, I know this guy doesnt represent the whole staff, but checkin is the first thing we see on arrival.
I enjoyed everything about this resort property. Clean friendly people helpful staff. The only issue I had is the language barrier in which some refuse to speak in English if you couldn’t understand them . Everything else was fantastic
This property is great for families due to the size of it, multiple restaurants and of course, the water park. We had a great time and felt safe.
The staff are not as detail oriented as in 4-star properties though. So I had to ask for maintenance issues in the room to be dealt with multiple times. In the restaurants we often had to remind the staff to fulfill a request, etc.
Be aware of the "concierge" at the bottom of each building. Apparently they are employees of the neighbouring sister property and their job is to rope in people into their "travel club" programme.
Here we were excited about the complimentary breakfast they offered us at the elevated Royalton Punta Cana property next door because of all our maintenance issues, and all they were doing was ambushing us for an hour long sales pitch. We bailed out after the breakfast. Despicable.
Outside of that bad experience we did enjoy our stay.

Good price, nice pool, but the rooms are really bad, smell bad broken bed dirty sheets.
The guys in the reception and at the main entrance bar are AWESOME. The resort is clean and well kept. The bartender at the bar located in the plaza where they do events was obnoxious. She was extremely rude and even THREATENED my sister after she said let me pray for patience as she was treated rudely as she walked away. Six people in our group had food poisoning including myself. I couldn’t wait for checkout. I will definitely not be back
This was my second time in Punta Cana and my third stay at a Royalton property with Diamond Club service. I stayed at Royalton Splash Punta Cana for 7 days with my teenage daughter. The property was clean and well maintained, and the water park was a nice addition and great for families.
While we enjoyed parts of our stay, I felt the Diamond Club service was inconsistent for the additional cost. Our butler, Edwin, made five restaurant reservations, but I had to repeatedly follow up through WhatsApp. On my sixth day, I asked early in the day for a reservation at the Mexican restaurant, but he never responded. The next day, he apologized and said he forgot and had other guests.
We also never got to use the hydrotherapy benefit included with Diamond Club because it was not scheduled during our stay.
The service at the main buffet and some Diamond Club lounge areas was also inconsistent. However, the Steakhouse and Hibachi were by far the best restaurants of our stay—the food and service were excellent!
A special thank you to Jose Garcia at the Diamond Club pool! He was friendly, attentive, approachable, and truly went above and beyond to make my daughter and me feel welcomed. He was the highlight of our Diamond Club experience.
Overall, I hope Royalton takes this feedback constructively. Diamond Club is expensive, and the service and included benefits should consistently reflect the premium experience guests are paying for.
I don’t usually write reviews, but our stay at Royalton Splash Punta Cana warranted one. Our Diamond Club butler, Edwin, was the highlight. He was attentive, checked in regularly, arranged dinner and spa reservations, and provided the personalized service I expected. He deserves 5 stars. The weather was beautiful, and our room was comfortable with excellent AC. Unfortunately, the food and drinks were major disappointments. The buffet’s scrambled eggs were consistently runny, and many dishes were unappetizing. Hunter Steakhouse was especially poor: my NY strip was fatty, pale, and poorly seared, while the mashed potatoes were barely lukewarm. Zen hibachi was the exception, with a great atmosphere and surprisingly good food. I wish we had eaten there more than once. The pools also need maintenance, with missing tiles throughout, including on several pool bar stools. Pool bartenders were generally unfriendly and often reluctant to make blended drinks. Even after requesting better liquor through Diamond Club, the mixed drinks were poor. I’m not a beer drinker, but I ended up drinking beer because the cocktails were so bad. Staff were adequate but not especially warm or welcoming compared with other Dominican Republic resorts I’ve visited.
Families will likely enjoy the water park, kids’ slides, and wave pool. Diamond Club may be worthwhile but, if food and cocktails are a big part of your all-inclusive vacation experience, I would consider another resort before booking.
We were first to arrive at 12:30. Check-in wasn’t until 3 o’clock, so when we went back at 3 o’clock, we had to wait an extra hour and a half to get checked in. We were the last to get our room out of maybe 40 more people that arrived after us. The app is terrible. We had issues with multiple reservations for dinners, the restaurants were not accommodating whatsoever when issues arose. Snack options are almost nonexistent, compared to other resorts. The excursions were awesome. The guy that helped book them in the lobby was great. All in all we had a great trip, considering we were with five 18-year-old boys that are not picky when it comes to food or accommodations.
We’ve stayed in the Dominican Republic before, but never experienced this level of chaos and empty “yes, right now” promises.
At check-in, we were handed a map and left to find our room in the dark. Somehow, our luggage found it before we did. That should have been a warning.
For my wife’s birthday, the hotel promised a surprise. Nothing. At dinner I asked twice for a simple Happy Birthday song. Twice: “Yes, right now!” We waited. Nothing. Apparently even Happy Birthday was too complicated.
The biggest disaster: ONLY AFTER ARRIVAL we learned the main buffet was closed for renovations. Instead, we walked 15 minutes in 95°F/35°C heat to a tiny restaurant with NO A/C and lines outside. Walk in the heat, wait in the heat, eat in the heat — all-inclusive with a free sauna 3 times a day. Guest Services promised a WhatsApp response. It never came. I guess the manager is still thinking.
And the beach? Barely a beach at all, with huge bags/barriers along the shoreline. If you want a beautiful Dominican beach, go to Saona Island instead.
Final circus: our checkout golf cart never came, and security refused to let our transfer driver enter despite the hotel giving us a driver pass. We dragged our luggage to the gate in the heat.
Nice grounds, decent water park, and a few genuinely wonderful employees — but overall, terrible service and organization.
I expected Royalton. I got a budget resort with a fancy logo and endless promises. Never again.
I think the hotel itself is amazing. Great amenities, the room cleaning staff always kept our rooms in great condition and were extremely kind, and the entertainment is fun for all ages. I was really impressed by the food at the Selections buffet and Under the sea. The BIG downsides to this resort is the staffs attitudes and work ethic. Since check in we were met with rude dismissive attitudes from the front desk staff and guest services. The bar staff was hit or miss some were nice others very rude. At the buffet it was a nightmare trying to get our glasses of waters filled or even refilled. One day we literally didn’t get any water during the dinner at all. We would sometimes not get napkins or offered coffee. There was only one time on June 3 at the breakfast buffet the waitress Angela was extremely professional and kept checking to make sure we were doing ok and filling our drinks. The staff at Uder the Sea and steak house were also professional and attentive. I would recommend the buffet offer self serving water stations because it’s truly bad service specially when it’s hot outside. I would stay away from the Mexican Cantina, the food was just awful. Another downside is the pillows they are super thin and uncomfortable. Even though the hotel is really nice I don’t think it’s somewhere I would like to spend a vacation at again.
We were very disappointed with our stay and would not return to this resort or another Royalton property based on this experience.
The room had several maintenance issues. The shower leaked water into the toilet area every time it was used, leaving the bathroom floor wet, and the air conditioning never got cold enough to keep the room comfortable.
The food was one of the biggest letdowns. The buffet had a very limited selection, and we found ourselves eating mostly rice and beans because very little else was appealing. If you don’t reserve the specialty restaurants before arriving, it’s nearly impossible to get a reservation. While we were able to occasionally walk in, the food at those restaurants wasn’t much better, and we often ended up going back to the buffet afterward because we were still hungry.
The entertainment was underwhelming, and there wasn’t much happening throughout the day or evening. The pool was also in rough condition and looked like it needed significant maintenance.
Overall, this was not the quality we expected from an all-inclusive resort. Between the poor room conditions, disappointing food, lackluster entertainment, and overall maintenance issues, we would not recommend this resort and would not choose to stay at a Royalton property again.
