3br/2ba home with expansive and serene, unobstructed waterfront views, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2 living areas, screened in pool area with heated pool that overlooks the river, screened in lanai that overlooks the canal and river, garage, 2066 sq. ft. under air, 280 degrees of spanning waterfront view. Enjoy the peaceful, serene setting offered by this lovely home overlooking the Peace River, voted for eight years the most scenic river in Florida. This home sits on a half-acre of waterfront, creating a beautiful and private getaway. Soak up the tranquil surroundings while lounging in the screened in pool area or relaxing inside. The sunset views are breath taking regardless of your vantage point. The open house plan offers expansive water views from most every room. The full kitchen with granite counter-tops has all the appliances needed to create the best of home cooked meals or if you prefer, cook up some steaks on the gas grill by the pool while watching for dolphins, manatees, and even an occasional shark. Prefer to eat out? There are quaint restaurants as well as other attractions in nearby Fisherman’s Village in Punta Gorda. If you are bringing your toys, there is plenty of space on the spacious lot to park your boat or RV. Whether you are a fan of fishing, water skiing, boating, kayaking, fossil hunting, or bird watching, Peace River will fit the bill. You can fish from the 280 feet of banks surrounding the house. There is both a community fishing pier and a public pier nearby as well as a public boat launch. Bringing young children? There are neighborhood parks close by. Our home is just 3 miles off of I-75 and 4 miles from Walmart and other shopping centers. It is extremely convenient to just jump on I-75 and go anywhere in Florida from the theme parks of Orlando or the Florida Keys. Disney, SeaWorld and Universal are only 2 1/2 hours away, and it’s just 15 minutes to miniature golf as well as several outstanding golf courses. Fisherman's Wharf, a complex of shops and restaurants overlooking Charlotte Harbor, is nearby. Sanibel Island, Venice, Boca Grande Beach or Manasota Key beaches are just a short drive away where shelling and shark teeth are plentiful. Boat rentals or charters are available nearby for deep sea fishing, and Arcadia (just 30 min. north) has great antique shops in the downtown area. There is a host of fun activities in the Punta Gorda area where you can enjoy beautiful beaches, golf courses, shopping malls, and wonderful restaurants all within reach. Here you are destined to have a perfect vacation or, even better, a long-term retreat. We accept checks and PayPal. You can pay with credit card via PayPal also.

Million dollar views! This property is clean and very spacious. The kitchen has everything needed to cook. We spent most of our week relaxing in the pool overlooking the beautiful Peace River. Will definitely return!

Great stay! Poor communication

When booking, we attempted to change the check in date and it took the property manager 2.5 days to respond. To which he only responded when I messaged him again to say we changed our mind and would keep the original dates. Check in was at 4 and we messaged 4 times starting at 11 am on VRBO as well as a “text” number asking if there was anything for an earlier check in. No response. We filled our time until 4 and when we arrived we were still unable to get into the property. The manager called at 4:10 to give us our new access code. Once in the home, the house was better than the pictures show and we had a great time. Stay was perfect besides the lack of communication from the property manager.

We had a great stay at this property on the Peace River, fantastic sunrise views from the pool deck. Property was everything we needed, quiet neighborhood, clean, and comfortable.

The pictures dont do this house justice

As the title state, the pictures on VRBO don't do justice to how nice this property is. The interior is larger than we expected and the amazing views can be seen from inside or outside. The pool is nice and has accessories available (Pool Noodles, etc), there is another screened in porch on the other side of the house that's a nice quiet space to relax in, and the views of Peace River are BREATHTAKING! We saw dolphins and alligators, and fish were flopping in and out of the water day and night! We did have a issue with the key code box but I texted Ed and he responded right away and we got it taken care of quickly. Ed was a good host and the vacation rental was everything I hoped for, and much more!

Perfect if you want to fish and relax

In the description it states there is a kayak for use. But it's only if you pay the owner extra does he give you access to it. The kitchen is a typical updated kitchen. The rest of the house is outdated. Only had one working shower. The sliding glass door wouldn't close properly. All of that being said, my daughter and I had a great time! We fished everyday from the back yard and caught blue crabs in the rocks.

Peaceful Tranquility

We were a little nervous as this was our first trip to Florida where we DIDN’T stay directly on the beach in a condo. The Peace river melted every concern down to the bay. While you can’t state this is a secluded property, we truly felt secluded as you don’t even see a house across the river. The house is clean with only one room carpeted. Furniture is comfy in both living and front rooms. Master king bed is comfortable. (Did not sleep in guest or day beds) If you are by yourself, open the French doors of the master bedroom and you can see the river through the daybed room. Porch screened in area is delightful for meals as you can see the river and canal. Living room has two walls of windows giving peaceful calm to your eyes. The pictures are accurate and owner has priced property appropriately for the areas needing improvement. There is no boat dock or water entry for this property, which I am 💯 ok with as alligators are known to swim these waters. There is an entry point at the street for the kayak you can rent from Ed. Bathrooms are clean but older and if you are tall you will need to use the guest bathroom. Owner was very responsive and kind. There was a slight inconvenience as the pool heater was off and Ed walked us through turning it back on. This was not an owner issue as it could have been previous renter or cleaning person. There is more than enough space for two couples or a family to have separate or together spaces as needed. There’s a kitchen table, breakfast nook, porch table, and two tables outside. Plenty of chairs around pool as well. We stayed the last week in April 2022 and hardly saw a boat or person. We chose to cook in all meals and charcoal grill fresh fish from freshcatchfishco.com (grouper cheeks are the best) and Haley handcrafted chocolates for cheese and chocolate. She also owns the adorable Punta Gorda coffee and tea shop around the corner. The Refindery Market is worth the browse between the two shops. All in all we loved our time here and intend to be back soon!

Peaceful vacation on Peace River

This was our second time spending a month in this house. It’s very comfortable and relaxing here. We saw dolphins and alligators swim by in the river. Sitting by the pool, looking out at the river, is so relaxing.. Ed is a wonderful host and has always been available.

Great property with unbelievable views. Dolphins, Manatees and a great variety of birds.

This property has a grand view of sunrises and sunsets. Being directly on the water is a plus for having absolute peace and quiet. That can only be enjoyed more by relaxing in and around the wonderful inground heated pool. The owner is unlike any others we have had at a residence. He is an owner of a property one can only hope you get every time with VRBO! Keep up the great work. TK

Beautiful property

The house and property were amazing. The pool was very cold, but my neices did not mind and enjoyed it very much. Being right on the water was serene and peaceful. The quiet neighborhood was also appreciated.

My husband and I along with our grandaughter enjoyed our stay at Ed's home. The house was very clean with beautiful views. It was conveniently located to Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte. We would highly recommend!

Disappointing and Misleading

The presentation on the VRBO was misleading. While not obviously dirty, the general appearance of the interior was unclean and rundown. Clearly routine maintenance had not been done for some time. The picture on VRBO leads one to believe there is a dock attached to the property, (the main reason we chose it) there is not. There is a dock attached to the property next-door. Upon arrival we were met with an overwhelming chemical smell. This smell was so overpowering it permeated the bed linens and quilts. It was so noxious, it was difficult to sleep the first night. It was necessary to wash all the sheets before we could sleep comfortably. Plug in air deodorizers were needed in the bedrooms to decrease the chemical smell. The cranks on the windows facing the river were broken and could not be opened to air out the rooms. The view of the river was beautiful but all the windows, back and front were filthy. The door to the pool in the third bedroom with the futon was sealed shut and could not be opened. The kitchen appliances were clean and we had everything we needed to prepare meals. The bathrooms had stained and mildewed grout around the tub as well as dirty and worn baseboards in some places. The hallway bathroom tub drained slowly, so at the end of a shower one was standing ankle deep in water. The toilet in that bathroom did not empty well, threatening to overflow with every flush. In the master bathroom, the knob to control the water temperature in the shower was broken, turning 360 degrees. The Roku TV system only partially filled the screen. Though the owner spent a considerable amount of time on the phone advising us, it was unfixable. The outside grill was unclean, rusty and unusable. The side porch was filthy and unusable. The pool water appeared to be dirty, though that may have been because of the color of the paint used. But in any case we did not feel comfortable using the pool. We never saw the owner. He requested we allow an electrician in to do an inspection for insurance purposes, but other than the two occasions mentioned, we never saw or spoke with him. Our family has rented several times using VRBO and had a wonderful experience each time. Because of past experience with VRBO, we trusted this time would be no different. Sadly, however, that was not the case. We would not recommend this property and are surprised it was listed on VRBO.

Family Visit

Several light bulbs were burnt out. Only one spare blanket. We had everything we needed to cook and make meals. Thank you for that. Cozy set-up. Very comfortable furniture. Appreciate the media available to watch news, shows and movies, especially kids programs.

Quiet and Peaceful

Man those views were stunning. Neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The house needs some updating but you can tell Ed is already making improvements. New floors and furniture in the bedrooms, granite countertops throughout it was quite nice. Location was great as well! The property is no more than an hour from some of the best beaches in the gulf. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay, it was what we were hoping for.

The great seller is the property backing onto the Peace River, with a canal on one side. The views are spectacular; during our stay, we saw dolphins, manatees, alligators, a gopher turtle (on our sea wall), many kinds of birds. The house is spacious and airy with an open plan, it was very clean when we arrived. The pool is lovely but the deck needed a good power washing; the sliding door to the pool did not stay on track and was difficult to open/close. The area was very quiet and relaxing, there was no noise from neighbors. Grocery and other stores are a short drive away. It was easy to communicate with Ed, he was very responsive and following our visit, sought and accepted my feedback via phone. We will rent this home again.
