"We recently traveled to Punta Gorda with our two young children and had an wonderful stay at the Hickatee. The off-grid property is not far from town but feels like a peaceful retreat in the jungle. We loved hearing howler monkeys! The grounds include a jungle path where you can explore and look for wildlife, a small splashing pool the kids loved, and a relaxing sitting area nearby. You also have access to the main house where you can cook for yourself, make coffee, use the fridge, relax and play games. The cottages were charming and comfortable. There’s no air conditioning, but we didn’t miss it. The only small issue we had was regulating the water temperature in the shower.Our host, Allison, was fantastic. Before we arrived, she helped us arrange all of our tours, which made planning so much easier. Once we arrived, she kept us updated about the tours. Her communication made everything feel effortless. One of the highlights of staying at the Hickatee is access to the butterfly farm. It’s a fascinating experience where you can learn about the life cycle and business of butterflies. We also opted for the meal plan and are so glad we did. Allison is a wonderful cook and went above and beyond to accommodate our family’s food allergies and intolerances. I never had to worry about reactions, and honestly, I haven’t eaten that well in a long time.Hickatee felt like a home away from home. Highly recommend!"

"Wow! Where to start? This Lodge was such a Gem to have discovered. Beautiful grounds, amazing staff who take the time to aid in any way you didn’t even know you wished for. So sharing of knowledge of their lovely grounds or surrounding areas when asked. My lodging was Devine as well! "

"Florette was wonderful and the breakfast that was included was fantastic. Loved my comfortable room that has everything I needed, including hot plate, microwave and fridge. You can walk to the center of town where everything is, along the waterfront in 10 minutes. I took the ferry to Guatemala one day. There's no air conditioning (typical in Belize), but this isn't a problem since you're right on the ocean and there are plenty of fans. What was a problem is there were no screens on two windows, and the traditional windows are venetian-style slats, so they don't seal. I was covered with mosquito bites every morning. This in a country where Dengue is an issue. It's a wonderful place, just confirm the room you're in has screens on ALL the windows."

"Coral house is such a gem that I actually don’t want to share! But as I do want the to stay in business… It is a serene, well built hotel on the water with shady spots and set up to catch the breeze. The hotel serves breakfast; continental is free, but a made to order breakfast is also available for a reasonable fee. The pool is a lap pool and the thatched cabana was a perfect place to relax with coffee. Did I mention the comfortable beds? The staff, including Greta the cat, is helpful and very accommodating. I will be back!"
