"I loved location to center of town. Right across the street is the beach. Staff was excellent, welcoming, accomodating. Air conditioning was great. Tv did not work. The building seemed old, but my room was clean. Pool also on property was refreshing. So, ok but I would check other hotels , I have no real basis for comparison, maybe all are old. They could make outer building more attractive. Thank you."

"Great location and not to far from town"

Umami Hotel - Adults Only

10/10 Excellent

"The property was beautiful and clean, the staff was lovely and incredibly helpful, and the breakfast was amazing! Having only one coffee in the room for the 4 mornings (i.e. not replaced each day) was disappointing, but forced us to go out for a local coffee instead. Having small/snack items for late arrivals and/or while the bar is open would be a great idea."

Almonds and Corals Boutique Hotel

8/10 Good

"This property is very nice and the staff are very helpful and polite. The only issue I have is the layout or design of the rooms. The rooms look like individual bungalows but they are actually two back to back. As a result the walls are thin and sound between the two rooms carries. It be great if they just made them as separate bigger spaces but it is what it is. Breakfast is very good. The place is in the more quiet area of Puerto Viejo. There is a small town at the end of the road but not much there"

10/10 Excellent

"My wife, two daughters and I rented Villas Cacao and Ginger for a week in October. We came to relax, explore, spot animals, eat good food and spend a lot of time together. This VRBO option is really amazing for what we had planned, as it was cozy, well supported by staff and located in a really lovely spot. The Caribbean coast line of Costa Rica has dozens of amazing towns, beaches, wildlife areas and nooks and crannies to uncover -- after our trip we really feel this location is ideally located. There are plenty of options for restaurants, food stores and whatever you might need. I would highly recommend this property, and they offer real flexibility based on the size of your group with the layout of their different Villas.(I would recommend that this property is best suited for travelers planning on having a rental car to explore the area -- but you can always still take a quick walk down to the local beach or jump in the pool if you don't want to drive!!)"

10/10 Excellent

"Our stay was absolutely AMAZING!! The location, communication with all involved, Sofia the masseuse, the woman who took care of our light cleaning and laundry, the home, atmosphere, Cleo the outdoor cat that visits the properties… everything was beyond beautiful!! Being able to walk out of the bedroom and be surrounded by beautiful trees and wild flowers, the sound of the waves crashing, and the wild life in the trees right across the way! We saw monkeys playing up top every morning, and we even had a sloth climbing by on the power lines, on his way back to his tree for his daytime sleep! I could boast about the whole experience, forever! My husband and I will 100% be coming back next year! We would not change one thing about it :) Pura Vida "
