"Overall, I would not dissuade anyone from renting the property but it did not live up to the glowing reports we based our decision on when we booked & accordingly we were disappointed. The property is in a traditional style, some areas would benefit from improvement as they are clearly worn. The main issue was that the entire house smelt very musty and this was very strong given the intense heat. Opening all windows doors etc obviously helped, the smell reduced but did not go entirely...

Pau is a lovely and pleasant town with good markets, lots of shops, and enjoyable restaurants. "Superbe maison au calme et proche de tout (Espagne, St jean de Luz, commerces). Grand terrain pour les enfants, piscine en plein soleil. Les chambres sont très correctes et confortables. Propriétaire très sympathique et plutôt arrangeant. Selon nous, il manque un peu d'équipements pour les tous petits (barrière dans les escaliers et éventuellement un lit parapluie d'appoint) mais pour les enfants, ras, de quoi jouer à disposition (foot, rugby, skate,...). Le b-mol c'est la facturation...

"The five of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the villa....the amenities were all as described, and the owner Julie was delightful. It certainly felt like home from home, and once we had mastered the hob and cooker we were away. We would certainly recommend the villa, the only downside was getting into the garage as with such a big car it was very tight, but after a few days we mastered that too. We all would certainly return, and fingers crossed if the golfing event is in Biarritz again next...

La campagne environnante est si jolie avec de nombreuses petites villes charmantes et bastides historiques, à courte distance de Pau, Salie de Béarn, Biarritz et de la frontière espagnole. Mme Dumartin était très sympathique et serviable, avec une connaissance encyclopédique des choses à faire. Bien recommandé. Nous sommes déjà tentés de revenir. Julie & Rhod...

"The villa is very nice, very clean and well equipped. Easy access to Biarritz, Bayonne, St Jean and San Sebastien so a great location to explore all that SW France has to offer. Lovely baker 10 mins away and an excellent supermarket 15 mins away. The owner's husband kindly drove to both to show us how to get to them. However, despite paying the not insignificant additional cleaning charge, we were given a long lecture on arrival on keeping the kitchen clean, the BBQ clean and putting every item...
