A great place near the ocean

An amazing hotel next to a shopping mall where you find everything, the downside is the construction which creates chaotic traffic at the entrance. Other than that, it was a great stay for me.

Overall, I like this hotel. This is the second time I've stayed here. But the only problem is their heating system. It's always on. It was hot in my room. You can't turn it down or turn the AC on.

Expectations mismatch

I recently stayed at Le Méridien Qingdao, expecting the refined experience showcased on Hotels.com and associated with the Marriott brand. Unfortunately, the reality fell short in several areas. Firstly, communication was unexpectedly difficult — none of the front desk staff spoke English, and all interactions had to be conducted via translation apps. This made even basic requests time-consuming and frustrating, especially at a supposedly international hotel. Secondly, I had specifically booked a smoking room, only to be told on arrival that the hotel is entirely non-smoking. I was informed that the website is outdated — but surely this is something that should be addressed by now, especially on major booking platforms. The bathroom area, particularly the wooden features and floor tiles, felt worn and in need of renovation. It detracted from what was otherwise a well-appointed, spacious room with a lovely view from a high floor. I appreciated the generous amenities and thoughtful touches throughout the room. One final inconvenience: the glass-topped desk rendered my mouse unusable, which made working from the room uncomfortable — a surprising oversight in a business hotel. In short, while the room had its positives, the lack of English-speaking staff, misleading booking information, and some maintenance issues made this stay less than satisfying. With a few improvements, this property could live up to the Le Méridien name.

The first room we had, the hair dryer was not working and the roof was leaking. The staff was quick to respond and change our room. The second room the battery in the weight person was too low so we couldn't weight our luggage. The quality of an hotel is affected by those small details.

Fantastic. A true five star hotel. I just find it odd that the hotel itself doesn't have a website dedicated to it. The view though was amazing and the the room was luxurious. And of course, having a mall connected to it is as convenient and fun as it sounds.
