Beautiful colonial hacienda right downtown centro with wonderful staff and daily housekeeping. There is a wonderful restaurant, El Candil, in the rear of the building and tranvia tour sales at the front entrance. Prime location in the historical downtown.

The accommodations were beautiful. It’s different from what I am used to because of no AC, but still a beautiful stay and delightful staff. Ricardo Viñas was so kind and helpful to us, and my wife and I were thankful for his service. Clean, Historical, and beautiful!

The hotel is astoundingly beautiful. It is a step back into history, stone staircases, tall ceilings, decorative painting, period furniture. Stained-glass ceiling. But it is not a modern hotel, and several aspects were lacking. One of our party had trouble with nternet part of the time. Few outlets for charging. The shower sometimes was tricky. It is an :"event" locale and one of the nights the party went on until 2 am, and at 7 they began the sign=in for the breakfast. The rooms surround the patio where the events occur. When the electricity went out for 5 hours in the central blocks of the city, the hotel didn't have candles on hand. Wonderful experience for a few nights during the week, ask about planned events.

Problematic issues: 1) We had to be moved to another room because there was no hot water and the ac wasn’t working. So, we were cold showering and hot trying to sleep. 2) The room we were moved to also didn’t have hot water the first day, the shower clogged, and the TV didn’t work. 3) We shared one towel in this last room because the others had a damp, stinky smell. 4) Our daughter stayed by herself in a different room and had to shower in our room because hers also didn’t have hot water. Good things: 1) The hotel and every room is beautiful in an old-time way. 2) Its location in downtown Queretaro is more than convenient for walking around. 3) The staff tried their best to make it work for us. 4) The one time we ate at their restaurant, everything was delicious. A little more attention to the details and this would be a top-notch hotel.

When we arrived, we discovered that our room did not have air conditioning, even though air conditioning was specifically listed as an included amenity. After we complained, we were moved to another room; however, the new room did not have the king-size bed that we had booked and paid for. The issues continued from there. The Wi-Fi did not work, and when we tried to take a shower, we discovered there was no hot water. The hotel’s solution was to have us use the shower in a different room. Unfortunately, that shower did not work properly either—the water was essentially stuck at either extremely hot or extremely cold. We were also required to notify the staff before using that room, meaning we could not even take a shower at our own convenience. To make matters worse, we found cockroaches in our room. Overall, we did not receive several of the basic amenities and accommodations that were advertised and that we paid for. Between the lack of air conditioning, the incorrect bed, nonfunctional Wi-Fi, unusable showers, lack of hot water, and cockroaches, the experience was completely unacceptable.

The hotel needs renovation, rooms old, tubs dirty, the room have an aircondition unit but they said they could not find the remote to turn them on. Terrible appearance! I booked a whole week, but I could not stay in this hotel, I had to pay for another one.

Beautiful and historic

It's a lovely, historic hotel. You do need a little patience and know hot water will eventually come. It was a little odd having an RV-size shower in the room, but it worked. The front desk was friendly and helpful and the maid service was exemplary. Very very conveniently located. I would stay again.
