I want to give this place 5 stars sooo bad but we had giants above us and non stop all night the walls would shake, I am not exaggerating we thought the ceiling and the lights were going to fall off. We got maybe an hour of sleep- you can hear everything-cars, people talking, dogs etc plus whoever was above us moved all the time and all night. Staff was amazing beyond amazing. The hotel itself soo gorgeous.

The inner courtyard is delightful and a lovely setting for waiting and just resting after a long flight or walk around Quito. Staff was helpful in arranging taxis. Location is close to many shops and the old square. It would be helpful to have a map of the city

The staff was helpful and the property was clean, but there were a few issues with the room. 1) The water drained very slowly in the shower which caused the shower to flood with water when using it. 2) Often, the hot water was only slightly warm, and rarely it would be hot, then become slightly warm again, so showers were a little uncomfortable. 3) The room had no heating, so they were a little cold. 4) There's also no key to enter the hotel front gate, you have to hit a buzzer and someone will unlock the front gate, which was not convenient. This was an inexpensive hotel, so you get what you pay for. If you don't want to spend much and can tolerate the inconveniences, then this place can work.

You get what you pay for. The positives-right in the heart of Old Town, nice rooftop view, clearly an older building with lots of history, breakfast included, the price can’t be beat The negatives-I had a lot of luggage (just returned from dive trip in Galapagos), and had to haul it up 3 flights of stairs and it was a maze to get to, the shower did not drain and there were a few bugs in it, the bed was very hard All in all, I can’t complain because it was very cheap. But I should know better as I would rather pay more for a clean shower, comfortable bed, and maybe no more than 1 set of stairs next time

The courtyard was so beautiful. The history of the building added to the intrigue and charm. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful 2 night stay. Safety was a high priority with a fare to buzz in guests. The breakfast was very nice and again the cavern environment told a story that added to the experience. It’s a gem in Quito.
