“Wantara Suites” is a private condo, hidden behind an adobe wall from colonial times in the Historic Centre of Quito. A manor house dating back to 1900 and several adjoining buildings give home to 8 independent apartments. Your Suite is located in the restored Colonial Villa, designed for a unique living experience. The modern style independent apartment is carefully restored and equipped with all amenities. A contemporary wood burning stove provides warm comfort. The private terrace overlooks the beautiful gardens. A breeze from the Panecillo hill provides fresh mountain air and you sit outside, surrounded by flowers and enjoy the sunny Ecuadorian climate.
An ample common area with gazebo, hammocks and BBQ invites to relax and enjoy nature.
Suite Cusumbo is the most comfortable of our Suites. The spacious, 90m2 (970 sqft) two level apartment is located on the top floor of the colonial villa with downstairs kitchen/living room, master bedroom, dining room and bathroom; upstairs is the studio/bedroom with a double bed (140 x 190 cm) and a comfortable single sofa bed
( 105 x 195 cm ). From here you have great views of the Historical Centre of Quito and Mt. Pichincha. Fast WiFi internet access, room service once a week is included and laundry service is available at 5U$ per load.

We loved our week in Quito. Yannik, Gina, Wolfgang and Annemarie answered all of our questions about where to go and what to see. They arranged a driver (Cristobal - 5 stars!) to take us to see places outside of the city and made sure we got back from the soccer game safely! With everything going on in Ecuador, we never felt unsafe on our trip. Thank you!

Oasis in the City

A gorgeous tranquil property among the bustle of historic Quito! The managers were present and helpful, the suite clean and beautiful, and the location so convenient for walking (and eating delicious empanadas!) we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt very taken care of.

Felt Just Like Home

What a lovely apartment. We felt very much at home here and could not have picked a better place to stay. How convenient to be met at the airport and transported directly to the apartment. Waking in the morning to have everything there for our breakfast worked out great. The cool evenings made for a perfect opportunity for a nice fire where we enjoyed drinks and planned our activities for the next day. Very convenient location for the historic district. Would have loved to stay longer.

just beautiful!

This was a oasis in the heart of the beautiful historic district of Quito. Short and easy walk to town, shops and food. We all felt very safe and secure in the charming courtyard collection of private residences. Would return or give this suggestion to my best friends. Thank you Andi and Wolfgang for all you did to make our stay easy and enjoyable!

Perfect spot for experiencing Quito and its surroundings

A group of us rented all but one of the units at Wantara for a recent work trip to Quito. It was perfect in every way. The spaces are beautiful. The cleaning staff keeps the units very clean. And, if you want to go on a unforgettable journey to any of the areas surrounding Quito, I highly recommend using one of the two tour guides/drivers associated with this property, Thomas and Marcelo. Our group became quite attached to them and they took small groups to different sites throughout the week (Otavalo, the cloud forest near Mindo, and to Cotopaxi and the surrounding area). This is a very special place...one we will never forget.

One of the loveliest places we've ever stayed.

Wantara Suites was completely wonderful, and we can't imagine having found anywhere more perfect to stay in Quito - we'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting Quito. Wolfgang and Andi made our whole visit very easy indeed, with lots of communication before we arrived, and breakfast left ready for us when we arrived late on a Friday evening. Marcelo, who picked us up from the airport, gave us a wonderfully warm welcome to Ecuador and gave us several more lifts after the initial late night pick up (he had to wait over 3 hours for us after our flight wad delayed!) and settled us into the huge apartment after our long journey. Wolfgang and Andy also went to a great deal of trouble to give us tips and advice on Quito and travelling around Quito, and the place felt like a home from home. The gardens are stunning and filled with hummingbirds, the accommodation is gorgeous, filled with beautiful wooden furniture, incredibly well-designed and spacious, and overall Wantara was a fantastic haven from the busy city. We were also really happy to be staying in the old town rather than the newer areas of town - it's so picturesque. We loved Quito, and we loved Wantara, and we'd recommend it to everyone. We only wished we could have stayed longer! Thank you, Wolfgang and Andi; we hope to see you again!
