"I really enjoyed my stay at Maravu Taveuni Resort. My bure was beautiful, with the added charm of an outdoor shower, and felt tucked away in the jungle while still offering stunning sunset views over the ocean. The shower had trouble with water pressure and heat with the drought.
The staff made the experience especially memorable. Ima and the front desk team were always warm, welcoming, and helpful. Rafa and Cali were incredible guides. I had a great time on my trips with Rafa to the waterfalls and the Waitavala waterslides, where he taught us so much about the island. I also appreciated that he helped me and another solo traveler split a trip when not enough people had signed up. It meant we still got to enjoy the experience. Cali and Rafa also shared local traditions and knowledge, from basket weaving to identifying fruit trees, and the nightly kava ceremonies with music were such a special way to connect with Fijian culture.
The resort itself feels less “resorty” and more like an authentic island experience, with a strong sense of community and adventure. The staff go above and beyond to help arrange snorkeling, diving, taxis, and guided excursions. The restaurant food was excellent, and they were accommodating of dietary needs.
Maravu is the perfect choice if you want to experience the natural beauty and culture of Taveuni with kind, knowledgeable people to guide you. I left with wonderful memories and would gladly return."
Beautiful ocean view home on 1 acre across from the beach. Prime Location
10/10 Excellent
"We loved our 10 day stay at Raintree Gardens and definitely hope to return some day. It is on a beautiful piece of land with incredible views and we took advantage of the fruit trees for papayas and limes! The house was comfortable and we didn't need to use the A/C but it is there in the bedrooms if needed. We were met by Ajay at the airport for pickup and he was helpful in driving us to the Bouma Waterfalls for our hike one day. He also arranged a car for us so we could drive to the other side of Taveuni. There are kayaks for use and one of our favorite activities was kayaking to the 3 islands for snorkeling which was the best on the island. The house is located easy walking distance to two separate markets which was very convenient and the fruit stand next door had delicious pineapple and different fruit ice creams which we loved. We even walked to the great snorkeling spot off Tramonto's. Highlights included having Ajay and his wife cook lovo one night for us! The Fijian people are so friendly and at the end of the 10 days, we felt part of the community."

"Vale Sakoula is all that the reviews and U-tube videos show. Great location on the water with a nice dock where Robert met us for snorkeling excursions each day. Four nights of bliss in Tavenui!! I see why it stays booked. Robert and Vinna are caring and terrific people. As are Tony & Katie!! Our best stay ever in 30 years."

"What a sparkling gem to find Helen and Peter’s place to end our stay in Fiji. Just perfect for the 2 of us. Its quiet, amazing 180 degree views of the ocean and the islands, beautiful garden with the old gracious mango tree and comfortable bed, and value for money compared to our stays in resorts. Helen arranged for delicious home cooked Fijian meals to be delivered to our door at half of the price of elsewhere You can walk to other cafes and supermarket. Peter bought us home baked bread, coconuts , eggs and milk. Highly recommended would come in a heartbeat. Thankyou so much. "
"Idyllic location on a hill overlooking the ocean with a gorgeous property and bungalow. Knox and Kelera treat their guests like family and are incredibly gracious. They made a lovo dinner for us which was delicious and Knox drove us to all of our day trip destinations filling the driving time with interesting observations about the island and history. One of the nicest vacation stays I have ever experienced. "
The most beautiful beachfront villa in Matei, Taveuni
10/10 Excellent
"Wonderful 9-day stay at Sere Ni Ika. Beautiful 3 bdrm 2 bath home with incredible views, with stairs to the beach. Entire house made of tropical wood. The housekeeper, Loata, took immaculate care of the house and was so kind. We hired her to cook one evening and our meal was delicious. We also hired the property manager, Byron, to take us to a nearby islet for snorkeling, twice. He picked us up right at the beach and the snorkeling was fabulous. There is an outdoor shower on the path to the beach, a full kitchen, an incredible veranda and a lovely yard. Our dishes were cleaned for us and laundry washed and folded. Luxurious bath towels were provided. There is a small market, a fresh fruit stand, and a small eatery within a few hundred feet of the property. Restaurants are within walking distance or a short taxi drive away. We highly recommend, and hope to return! "
