"Considering the price, the apartment was ok. There is an air fryer, kettle and toaster. Washing up is a challenge in the small sink in the bathroom. Filling the kettle is difficult as it doesn't fit under the tap in the bathroom! The bed was ok, but you can feel the springs. The TV didn't work as the aerial lead was damaged. The hair drier was dangerous as it was full of dust and smelt of burning. The views over the bay were spectacular. Ok for a couple of nights, no longer though."

"Room was clean outdated but maybe thats the Victorian style theyve kept, the bath tub looked clean but looking closer looked like it had dirt, double room was quite a small double bed breakfast was fab and beds was comfortable"

"Bear in mind that this is a budget hotel, so don't expect 5 star stay. I wanted a clean comfortable bed (tick), on-suite shower and toilet (tick), a sea view (tick), free parking (tick), close to the venue I was working at (tick), breakfast wasn't required but I got it anyway (tick), friendly staff wasn't essential, but I got that anyway too (tick). One disappointment was the quality of the wifi - you can connect, but apart from sending emails and WhatsApps, that seemed to be the limit (fail). I am sure other people will find other things to complain about, but for the price I paid, this was just what I ordered. Would I return? Yes."

"Nice hotel in a lovely setting. Our lakeside view double room was very spacious and comfortable but a little bit dated. With only one window it made the room very dark and the room lighting options weren’t very good. You had to have every light on in order to look in the wardrobe or use the vanity table , which made the room far too bright. The bathroom was ok but needed hooks on the back of the door to hang wet towels or Bath robes . Food and drink at the hotel was very expensive and over priced for what it was. The spa facilities and swimming pool were modern and in good order and my daughter was delighted with the Swedish massage that you had. The biggest problem that we had was the poor facilities at the hotel for charging electric cars. I have a hybrid car which needed charging every day but the hotel wanted £25 per day to use their charger. I fully charged my car in a town car park for £6 which is about the going rate for public chargers but was very inconvenient as it meant we had to stay in one place for too long. I would have preferred to charge overnight at the hotel. The hotel needs to install two or three charging points from one of the many companies that now supply them or get the council to install public charging points in the two public car parks at the front of the hotel. The one I used at the car park in Grassmere operated by Fuuse was very good and I would recommend it. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Lakeside and the staff were friendly & helpful."
