This is a spectacular boutique hotel! The views of the coastline and the floor-to-ceiling windows in the rooms cannot be beat. This is 5-stars for the room views, the service, the updated exquisiteness of the décor, and the added amenities (pool, balconies, outdoor dining, access to oceanfront restaurants, etc. Don’t expect a Sheraton or Hilton type place….this isn’t that, and you shouldn’t be here looking for that here. This hotel was above and beyond... from the second we walked in, the staff ensured we felt like we are on vacation. They assisted us with as many things as possible. This was our first visit to Sorrento. The hotel was beautiful with a great full breakfast. Room was spacious, staff was friendly & the housekeepers sweet. We had dinner twice in the rooftop dinning room overlooking the bay. The sunset was amazing. The waitstaff friendly , the food five star. We also danced to the music which made it very romantic. Truly the most incredible service. They gave recommendations for food right when we got there and on our last day when the ferry was canceled assisted with helping me find other transportation. Best breakfast of my life. We were celebrating my 30th birthday and they brought me a candle!! The shower was the shower of my dreams. I would recommend this place to anyone!

The path winding through the cliffs to the small bar and lounge chairs along the water is very unique. Very small wading pool on upper terrace. Classic double room was small and non-descript. Disappointed with the size of balcony and the sea view from room!

The Ara Maris which is referred to as the new hotel was one of my best stays at any hotel in all my travels, which is considerable. The service from all the staff whether it be registration, concierge, dining, pool, cleaning or spa wax consistently top notch. It is a physically pleasing site and is close to all the shops and restaurants in the main area of Sorrento. We were there for 8 days and could have stayed longer. This is a great hotel from staff to location to views. It also has probably the best restaurant on the coast, better than Eolo.

The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The staff is friendly and very helpful even though I don’t speak Italian. The view from the shared terrace is amazing!! The only drawback is the flight of 82 steps from the street and I had a little trouble finding the place since I had no internet connection for GPS, so be sure you know where you’re going ahead of time!

I absolutely love this hotel. Have stayed there several times and wouldn’t think about staying anywhere else. The location is so convenient to the square and right in the middle of al the activity. The rooms are beautiful and breakfast is always delicious. Mario does a wonderful job making sure everyone has anything they want for breakfast.

Great location less than a block from the main plaza. Our room was right next to the elevator and we never heard a sound. Only a few blocks to the train station and bus stops. Many great restaurants nearby. Best breakfast buffet in our whole 26 days in Italy. Left a jacket and they had it sent to our next hotel on Capri for a minimal charge.

The hotel offers modern eclectic decor. Very unique... Including multicolored lights in the bathroom shower area. Friendly staff and great restaurants that are walkable.. The hotel offered and organized a trip to a local restaurant high up in Positano called Da Costantino. Well worth the visit. Fantastic views. The tiramisu was really good. Our first trip to Sorrento, and we couldn't have a picked a more perfect hotel. The hotel, more like a private guesthouse is centrally situated on the piazza with short, colorful walks to everything, including the train/bus station. There are cozy cobblestone streets with shops and wonderful restaurants.
