"The room was clean and spacious. The fireplace was a nice bonus. The view out the window was amazing (we were there during peak-leaf viewing for fall colors). The thing I did not like was that you had to walk down a hill to get to your room. There was poor lighting/no lighting to walk down at night time. The bulb by our door was unscrewed, so it was dark on the porch until we found it was not screwed in all the way. I have issues with walking, so it would have been nice to know (in the description of the room) that I would have to walk up and down a small hill (it wasn't really steep-just a long slow sloop). But when you have walking issues it can be hard, especially if it is raining."

"Absolutely 11/10 experience. One of the most thoughtful hotels I’ve stayed at. It’s perfectly cozy while also feeling elevated - you can tell that there has been extra thought and care put into every detail. Highly recommend hitting up the communal bonfire - don’t be shy about it! Some of our best memories during our three night stay were meeting strangers at the fire pit and laughing and telling stories (while making s’mores from the kits provided by the staff!). Thank you for a beautiful and memorable stay - we will be back!"

"The staff is incredible, super warm, accommodating and also nice to chat with while you are getting checked in. The property itself is very well maintained, and the location is really great. Close to the lake and a great sunset view. Highly recommended!"

"We have been staying at Cliffdweller over the past 10 years. I have to say I am a little disappointed in the direction it’s heading. It felt much more person with the care initially. But now it’s just like any other budget hotel. The view is great. But breakfast not until 8? Way too late. And not much to speak of. It’s lost its charm which is what made it special. For the price it should be better."

"Our weeklong stay with our 3 generation family was excellent. Communication was great. Checkin was easy. The place was absolutely beautiful. Exactly as shown in pics. Every bedroom had a view of Lake Superior. Everyone had their own space. The place was extremely well-equipped, so nobody had to haul a lot of extra equipment for young kids. The back yard was perfect for family gatherings around the fire with s'mores - and also for yard games. The deck overlooked the lake and was more than big enough that we grilled and ate many of our meals as a family out there. The walk down by the lake was short and relatively easy with the huge rocks along the shore. We even found a fairly protected cove that people could wade into to cool off. And the location was just a short drive from so many things - including unbelievable parks, hiking trails, waterfalls, winery and golf course. Would definitely recommend this for a stay and would definitely book again for a similar family trip!"
