Tia Luísa Cottage (country house)

30 km from Évora and a few minutes from Reguengos de Monsaraz, the village is located in a privileged region of rural landscape, where agricultural fields and olive groves abound.
The house accommodates four people and has two bedrooms. One with two single beds and the other with double bed. There's also a extra be for an extra host. It has a common living room and kitchen (gas stove and oven, fridge and microwave). Features a fully equipped bathroom. For the cooler days the room has a salamander (fireplace) and is equipped with cable TV and free WiFi.

Paisible retraite

Le logement comporte toutes les commodites de vacances. Les commerces sont presque à la porte. Et il y a de quoi visiter autour notamment evora.

Lovely country cottage

A lovely, cosy Alentejo style cottage situated in a rural area surrounded by vineyards, cork and olive trees. Everything was as described in the listing and the local property manager was lovely and made the check-in and check-out process seamless. A nice welcome basket was awaiting us of local wine, cheese and bread. Sadly, the view of the fields from the back patio was blocked by overgrown vegetation during our stay. The lemon tree was full of fruit and we were encouraged to pick them to make lemonade. (Which we did! ) The people in town were very friendly, as well.

Traditionelles Wohnhaus in ländlicher Umgebung

Haus in einer Gasse in einem verschlafenen Dorf. Original Einrichtung der "Tante" - alles mit Zierrat vollgestellt, lokalkolorit, wenig Platz um zu kochen, kaum Ablage und Arbeitsflächen. Die Betten nicht sehr komfortabel (auf einem Brett Federkernmatratzen). Netter Garten mit weitem Blick in die Landschaft.

Lovely peaceful getaway

After a lovely welcome from Dona Paula we were very happy with the house and garden space. Inside was lovely and cool, with stone floors and ample space for a couple and 2 dogs, and the garden was a wonderfully peaceful place to sit outside and read, sunbathe and eat. The night sky is phenomenal in this area, with the Milky Way and constellations perfectly visible. The village is quite sleepy, but has 2 café / restaurants, a post office, supermarket and small general store. The towns of Redondo and Reguengos are a short drive away, and the beautiful hilltop village of Monsaraz with stunning views of Alqueva reservoir and the most amazing sunsets is just a short distance further on from Reguengos. The reservoir beach has great facilities and watersports like Stand up Paddleboarding, pedal boats, kayaking and a sunset cruise. We live in Portugal so didn't want to drive further to visit Évora or the marble towns of Vila Viçosa, Estremoz etc, but for a first time visitor those places are well worth a look. As we wanted a restful getaway, we were extremely pleased with our choice.

Casa bonita vistas al campo

Nos ha gustado mucho la estancia en esta casa. En general tranquila (aunque en este momento hay una obra grande a dos casas de ésta y estaban excavando en el campo delante del patio). Muy cómido llegar y aparcar y Monzaraz y Evora a media hora. Restaurante del pueblo pone menu del dia que era excelente. La gente del pueblo muy amable.

Cosy and well located

Well, I loved the hammock and the little back yard, where I spent most of my time..The house was prettily decorated and comfortable. We took our own toaster as the one provided was a bit awkward to use and had no automatic cut off. One more biggish saucepan, for pasta or rice, would be good but I understand most people are not interested in cooking and our situation was a bit different. We loved the fact we could take our dog and cats with us. Both the owner and the lady looking after the property were friendly and efficient and made checking in and out very easy. There is a great little restaurant round the corner which has lunches including wine and dessert for eight euros..Montoito is a lovely village, well located for exploring the area ..Recommended.

Rustic cottege at a least touristy place to relax

Tia Luisa is a traditional and rustic cottage, perfect place if you want to stay like a local. We were there in the late summer, and we were probably the only tourists in the entire Montoito village. Great access to many interesting lovely villages by car, large supermarkets in Redondo and Reguengos de Monsaraz are useful, Municipal Market in Redondo was also nice with lovely market people, but also in Montoito, nearby mini market was our favourite as the man of the shop was always exceptionally kind and helping to us. Neighbouring village Redondo (only 20min drive away) was particularly our favourite. Spent nice time there at a cafe or a bar (municipal Enoteca), came back to the cottage, had nice drink in the garden watching sheep are coming back for water beyond the garden fence, and then enjoyed watching gorgeous colour of sunset and millions of stars in the sky... It was only shame that the neighbour family was a little noisy; it was not as quiet as we expected staying there. Well, it is where other people live their daily life, we had to accept… Cottage was fully equipped as it stated, no problem on cooking at all. Finally, we really want to thank the lovely neighbour who actually looked after our stay. When we arrived unexpectedly late at night for the first day, she quickly came out for us and welcomed us, explained all what we wanted to know. A bottle of wine, fresh village bread for the next morning and fresh fruits from her garden were ready there, which made us relaxed and free from concern. She was really helpful from time to time. When we call her, she immediately appeared. Thank you Joao, for all the arrangement. We had great time there on our holiday this year. We left extra copies of brochures of interesting places there in the living room for later visitors. Hope it helps them.

Estadia muito agradável

Foram apenas 3 dias, mas dava vontade de ficar muito mais tempo. Adorei a casa, a zona envolvente à casa, tudo, a Sra Paula foi sempre muito prestável e simpática. Correu tudo pelo melhor. Deu vontade de ir viver para montoito. Vou querer voltar brevemente.

Estancia muy agradable

Casa acogedora que cubre todas las espectativas, con muy buena relación calidad-precio. Buena base para conocer el Alentejo interior. La terraza es ideal para desayunar y cenar en casa. El queso y la botella de vino de bienvenida son un detalle.

Great place

Great rustic and charming flat on the edge of town. Centrally located to visit wonderful places in all directions. Local foods and wines are fabulous. Bed was not the most comfortable and tight for 2 people. Check in and out was easy. Freaks have lemons on the tree in the back patio. Lovely!!

Très convenable.

Petite maison typique de cette province Portugaise . Bien située au carrefour de magnifiques villes/ villages , à proximité du plus grand lac artificiel d'Europe . Un petit "resto " sympa à quelques 50 m de l'habitation. Parking dans la rue sans souci.Toutefois ( à l'époque ou nous l'avons occupée ) ,il est à noter un défaut d'isolation aux ouvertures qui a été rapidement compensé par un radiateur supplémentaire . Le propriétaire ainsi que Laura la dame chargée de la réception sont à l'écoute et aux "petits soins " . Si nous avions une note a donner elle serait de 7 sur 10 ....

Relaxing

Tia Luisa was perfect for us: quiet, well-equipped, convenient and comfortable. From the verandah we loved the view over farmland and from the front of the cottage the local shops and cafe are only a short walk away. As for the local area, we visited beautiful Evora, Monsaraz, and Beja, and swam in the lake near Mourao. We'd already been on holiday for a few days when we arrived but this is where we really began to relax. Thanks Joao.

Local muito sossegado. Supermercado, farmácia e cafés muito próximos. Casa com todos os equipamentos necessários e limpa. A única sugestão era num futuro próximo estar equipada com ar condicionado.

excellent séjour maison de campagne

Superbe maison dans un village typique. Bon emplacement si on veut visiter Evora. Excellent restaurant en face de la pharmacie a 30-50 m de la maison . Nous avons pris touts no repas dans ce resto et c'était absolument délicieux.Juste pour ce resto ca vaut la peine de séjourner dans ce petit village. Nous avons eu de la difficulté de trouver le village. L'adresse de la maison n'était pas précise . Avant de vous présenter il faut s'assurer de prévenir le propriétaire et de confirmer les modalités de prendre la clé. Bon séjour

Accueil et chalet très chaleureux

Un très bon séjour, Chalet en pleine campagne à 25 min d'Evora. La route offre un agréable panorama sur les champs d'olivier puis sur la route des cigognes. Oui en ouvrant l'oeil, il y a une portion ou elles sont très présentent. Le chalet est typique, la literie très confortable. Nous n'avons pas rencontré Jaoa, mais il est disponible facilement par téléphone et se montre aux petits soins. Un séjour réussit en tout points.
