Even though we were a bit far from Berlin, we have nothing but compliments about our stay. The area was so walkable and felt very safe. The room itself was incredibly clean and everything worked perfectly. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The front desk, especially, made us feel exceptionally welcome. We were able to partake in the breakfast on our last day, and we wish we had been able to the other days. Eichwalde is a quiet, residential town. I was planning a couple of long days at DESY-Zeuthen, one S-Bahn stop south of Eichwalde (or a nice 45 minute walk). I typically stay in Berlin proper, but wanted to give this a try. Anyway, I had a small, but very nice, single room. Checked in late via the intercom and key lock-box. I had a German speaker with me, but it seems likely it would have worked in any case. Breakfast was quiet, food and coffee were excellent.

This property resonated with the old German charm I was hoping to encounter during our summer trip to Germany! The rooms were all different and comfortable, and the dining room and great hall / game room areas were perfect for our group of 13 to hang out and have a few drinks while the kids playing a couple of games of pool. The host, Alex, was wonderful to talk with and contributed to the overall welcoming experience we all had. I would highly recommend this property to anyone considering...
