Introduction to Villa Deleni:
Villa Deleni is a modern, luxurius, sparkling clean, villa with all the amenities and comforts that you need during your summer holidays. It is famous for the natural environment of the gardens, the sea views, the closeness to nice beaches, the activities in the olive grove and the private swimming pool. What makes villa Deleni really unique and separate from the other villas is the exterior of the villa, the truly beautiful gardens with local herbs, flowers and trees, the olive grove of the villa and the activities that you can enjoy in the villa and are presented below. Villa Deleni is located on the outskirts of the beautiful village of Prines and is 6km away from the traditional town of Rethymnon.
Arriving at the villa- Location:
You could easily arrive at the villa either by driving your own rented car or by using local or private transport. The airport of Chania and the airport of Heraklion are about 1 hour drive to the villa and both airports are a good choice and an easy drive to the villa. Either way you will drive a beautiful drive by the sea throughout the whole journey and you will enjoy the sea views and the picking the beaches to swim. Villa Deleni is very close to the sea as well and located on the outskirts of the beautiful village of Prines and is 6km away from the traditional town of Rethymnon. You will find the villa easily by using google maps as the link with the map will be sent to you prior to your arrival. Entering the villa:
Once you arrive you will see beautiful olive groves, orange and lemon trees, local herbs and carob trees and you will smell a really clean air and maybe feel a sea breeze and the garden gate will open electronically. The key will be given to you either by the host or by any other arrangements that you will make prior to your arrival. You will park your car in the private parking area within the garden and you will enter the villa either from the front main entrance which is imposing with big stairs decorated with cacti and the sea views are already captivating you from the top of the stairs. You could also enter from the back entrance and this will lead you straight into the kitchen if you carry any shopping bags from the super market.
Interior of the villa:
The villa has a spacious 180 square meters living space where the visitors could sit in the beautifully decorated with natural colours spacious living room, watch movies on the smart satellite TV, other times listen to music and discuss or make use of the free Wi-Fi. The kitchen and the dining hall are the place where everybody could relax and have a drink while the dinner is getting ready however many times during the summer months our visitors prefer to have their dinner in the spacious teracce where they can enjoy the sea and garden views as the weather is always suitable to do so! The materials and fabrics used in the villa are always kept in an exceptionally clean condition that we are praised for. Our villa offer a calm, secluded environment and is suitable for max 8 persons. The warm welcome, the service and the hospitality will make your stay comfortable, stress free and unforgettable! The guests can catch lovely sea and tranquil mountain views from the balconies on the north facade of the villa.
On the same level three double and one twin lovely bedrooms are provided. A spacious bathroom with bath tub and the master bedroom with ensuite bathroom. An extra bathroom is also available by the living room. Air-condition is also provided in every bedroom for free and cleaning every week is offered for free. Exterior of the villa:
Our villa is unique for the serenity and the idyllic evenings that it offers. There is nothing better than to walk early in the morning through the wild garden and the olive grove of villa when the droplets glisten on the foliage and the birds sing with all their power.
In the evening the best thing to do is to relax in the big terrace and admire the sun setting in the sea. During the summer mornings the crystal clean blue Mediterranean waters are glistening and this offers calmness and a tranquil environment in the villa.
The villa has been build with a great respect to the natural environment and this is obvious by the old carob trees with their trunks entangled in arched shapes in distinct areas of the garden! You are welcome to walk across the olive grove that surrounds the villa and see the olives collected or help in their collection in October/November time and admire the really old olive trees some are 300 years old and you can see their big trunks. You are welcome to collect lemons, pomegranate, rosemary, thyme, oregano and lavender from the garden of the villa and use them in your cooking if you like!
The swimming pool is private with max depth 1.70m, there are steps and safe children’s swimming part. The shaded area by the pool is offers shade and protection from the Cretan sun!
Activities in the villa:
If you want to spend more time in the villa you could be involved in activities and create beautiful memories of your stay. For example, most repeated guests ask to be involved in the gardening process and plant their own olive trees and they love to watch them grow the next time they visit the villa again. You could also ask to be involved in the picking of olives and production of olive oil if you visit the villa in late October. Other activities you could ask hosts to prepare a garden outdoor cinema for you and your family to watch your favorite movie in the garden or by the swimming pool with the night lights on which is one of the most idyllic and romantic evenings in the villa. The hosts are always happy to show you how to cook Mediterranean dishes so do not hesitate to ask whether you could learn a new recipe!
Location and activities outside of the villa:
Prines is a traditional, beautiful village of Crete with three nice tavernas and mini markets in its centre, at about 600m away from the villa. The larger town of Atsipopoulo is just 3km away and offers two supermarkets, tavernas, banks and a popular pizza restaurant. The sandy beaches of Gerani and Episkopi are located in short driving distance (5-10 minutes away). Rethymno, the main city is 6km from the villas.
Rethymno on the North coast of Crete, situated at equal distances from Heraklion and Chania, is only a short distance from the most picturesque countryside, making it an ideal center to explore the island.
Crete is the largest island in Greece, between Europe and Africa. Majestic mountains rise in its center- the White Mountains, Psiloritis or Ida and Dikti Mountains- but there are also lots of endless beaches.
Lake of Kournas, Argyroupoli springs, Eleftherna museum and Georgioupolis beaches are very close to the villa and are definitely worthy of visiting!
Cleaning:
After Covid 19 period- Cleaning procedures: Cleaning was always the most important focus in our villa. We use pharmaceutical disinfectants to clean every surface, every furniture of the villa. We pay special attention to the kitchen and bathroom areas that we diligently clean with bleach. All fabrics and linen are washed before your arrival. All these happen between groups but also while you live in the villa. The cleaning is supervised by us the owners of the villa and not by cleaners to ensure the highest standards of cleaning offered. The villa is located in open space within big gardens and other houses are far away which keeps you safe . The swimming pool is cleaned daily as well.
