There when/where you need it

I selected this hotel as it was the midpoint of a two-day journey, and convenient to the motorway. I wasn't looking for style points, just a clean, inexpensive, comfortable place to sleep for the night. Corsendonk De Linde delivers exactly that. No frills, no mint on the pillow, but very functional. Added bonus is that the restaurant next door (which is about the only food in the vicinity) offers hotel guests a 10 percent discount and serves up a surprisingly good pizza and inexpensive bottles of decent wine. Check-in was crowded at 6pm, but as this hotel serves a lot of other drivers such as myself who were all getting off the roads at the same time, I guess I shouldn't have been surprised. Check-in could have used a 2nd staff member, but all things considered, the line moved quickly.

Rooms need upgrading- close to E34 motorway

We only stayed for one night after a long drive. We only chose this hotel as it was close to the E34 motorway. The rooms need an urgent upgrade, they look old and also they could have cleaned it better. The town is very small, the closest City is Turnhout which is ok but nothing spectacular.

Tout va dépendre du type de séjour principalement. Nous étions simplement de passage. Nous avons séjourné 2 nuits sans petits déjeuners dans une chambre duplex et n’avons rien à redire. Le site est sympathique et le personnel également. Le seul bémol est l’isolation phonique dans les chambres car on entend la route. Rien à redire sur ce 3 étoiles en campagne belge.

Great little find.

Great little place. Quiet with a lovely restaurant. Buffet style. All you can eat and drink for two hours. Best leek soup I have tasted. We stayed in a duplex room with 3 children but ended up bringing the mattresses Down in to the bottom room as it got to hot upstairs. This was during the 37 degree heat wave though. Microwave in room was great for heating up baby food. Beds comfy. We had a great waiter who seemed to be working bar and restaurant alone and doing everything but he was still attentive and found time to chat.

Het is qua ruimte vrij groot. Helaas was er lekkage bij het raam en was de gehele vloer vochtig. Ook stonk het hierdoor in de ruimte. Het was redelijk schoon wat betreft de badkamer en toilet. We hebben een andere kamer gekregen nadat we aangaven er niet te kunnen slapen doordat het naar binnen regende.

Bij ons lies s'morgens het douche water niet weg. De badkamervloer en gedeelte van de slaapkamer waren drijfnat. Dit zo goed mogelijk drooggemaakt en doorgegeven bij de receptie. We konden hierdoor helaas niet allebei gebruik maken van de douche en moesten gehaast ontbijten i.v.m. de tijd. Dinsdag zouden we gebeld worden, maar is het helaas niet doorgegeven aan de juiste persoon. Na een mail te hebben gestuurd heeft ze s' avonds nog terug gebeld, en verteld dat we de kamer kosten krijgen terug geboekt. Wij zijn tevreden met deze afhandeling en hopen er volgend jaar weer een kamer te kunnen boeken.

Good hotel, but although I only booked a room.(without breakfast)..I had to pay Euros 22 for the double room breakfasts !!!! Since I had to pay for breakfast, I did have 1 breakfast...but not happy with paying for 2 breakfasts I would like Euros 11 credited to my account please.(for the breakfast I did not have !) Spacious clean family room, we had 3 people. European wasps were a bit of a problem coming in the room. When we arrived there was water all along the window sill as there had been a big rain storm and it had leaked.

Possibilité de faire un check in tardif mais notre clef n'était pas dans la boîte prévue à cet effet. Les chambres sont propres. Elles deviennent néanmoins vétustes. Corsendonk de linde est plus un centre de vacances qu'un hôtel au sens qu'on se l'imagine.

An interesting hotel, marred by noisy "guests"

This was my second stay at this hotel, chosen because it's only 5 minutes by car from where I needed to be. It's simple, fairly basic (although my room was quite big) and in a quiet spot a few minutes walk from the centre of Retie. The reception team in particular are friendly and helpful. The weather was unseasonably warm and my room was far too hot - the air conditioning was noisy and completely ineffective. The windows do not open, and although there was a patio door, leaving it open was not really a practical proposition for all-night ventilation. It was so hot that, on my first night there, several inconsiderate guests thought it would be acceptable to sit around outside talking loudly until 0230 which did not help. On my second night it was completely silent which is how I remembered it from my first stay. Much better!

Mooie plek, maar een frisse wind nodig!

Hotel ligt in een mooie omgeving. De ontvangst was hartelijk. De 4 persoonskamer is echt aan renovatie toe. De muren, de gordijnen, de lampen, het kan eigenlijk echt niet meer.. Voor 1 kort verblijf en overnachting is het te doen, maar niet voor comfort en luxe. Van het 'tijdelijke' restaurant geen gebruik gemaakt omdat het er zo ongezellig en kil uitziet. De lobby is netjes, maar vervang de toeristenfolders eens voor nieuwe en ga met een beetje passie en liefde door de aankomsthal! Het zit hem in de kleine dingen. Ik miste een waterkoker op de kamer, koelkasten en magnetron wel aanwezig, dat is een pluspunt! Wij komen zeker nog wel terug, na renovatie restaurant en updates voor de kamers.
