I would not recommend this hotel. It is very overpriced for what it is. You can find much better deals in the area as long as you book in advance.
The rooms are REALLY dark. There's no view of the mountains. Our view was of a wall.
There's no shampoo or lotion or any of those toiletries. I'm not sure if this is common of Austria hotels, but I was disappointed that there was only some cheap liquid soap which dried out my skin and hair. The most annoying part was that they did not have an international converter! I've traveled to about 20 countries in the past 2 years and this is the first hotel I came to that did not have a converter. We had to go the day with no charged devices :(
The breakfast was not a hot breakfast - only a continental breakfast.
Front desk was nice and helpful. Room was very hot on the road noisy, had to leave door open all night to sleep so street noise was loud.

We stayed in Reutte so that we could visit Neuschwanstein Castle. Turns out Reutte is a nice town too with lots of places to eat - although we ended up at the hotel anyway. Try their menu with regional food on it.
The hotel is nice, well organized and the restaurant is good but is not a particularly memorable place to stay. View in the city are great. Also, the male receptionist is as curt as everyone else mentioned - although I would rather just say that he is business like .. although a little overly so!
Very happy we chose this hotel for a stopover. Great view. Nice size rooms in a lovely family run hotel. Road busier than it at first appears but we couldn't hear the traffic noise with the window closed. Very limited free parking by the hotel. Public car park a short distance away.

The hotel is old, but room is very large, bathroom also very big. Free car parking.
Staff can speak good English.
Ottima cena a Capodanno.
The Hotel Goldener Hirsch is a wonderful hotel in the town of Reutte, Austria. After a full day of touring castles we stayed the night at this hotel. The owner was so gracious. We had a party of 3,(2 adults,1teen) and he set us up in a 2 room apartment. Huge, quiet space and large bathroom with a view of the Alps from the window. There is a restaurant at the hotel where we had dinner that was so good. The breakfast buffet was complimentary and beautiful. Very sophisticated and classic-not at all like the breakfast buffets in the US.
We were looking for a hotel in the area of Neuschwanstein Castle last minute (via Expedia). All the hotels across the border in Austria were a lot lower price. I picked this one because the checkin was the latest of those. Place was easy to find. We got in, the man working the desk was very friendly and welcoming, with easy to understand English, and got us checked in without a fuss. The room was easy to find, though the hotel was a lot bigger than it looked on the outside. Slept in, we got a fairly good breakfast in the morning, and were on our way.

Convenient; friendly service r tired
Service was pleasant and helpful. However our room was decorated by what looked like children's school projects and the furniture and fittings had the air of a neglected spare room rather than a popular three star hotel. Public rooms have more style.
