The Coach House, Reydon (Recently refurbished 2024)
'The Coach House' in Reydon, just beyond Southwold, is a fantastic and newly decorated cottage with a lovely modern feel incorporating the traditional structural beams. This property is perfect for couples looking to escape the stresses of daily life and wishing to explore Southwold and the heritage coast.
Reydon is in a fantastic location, just a mile outside the popular seaside town of Southwold on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. As such, it is an ideal base for those wanting all the components of a seaside holiday cottage but in a more peaceful setting.
There is everything you’ll need for your holiday here, with two well-stocked grocery shops, selling essential items as well as locally produced fruit and veg, and an excellent local ‘watering hole’, The Randolph. For the more active, you can easily walk from your holiday cottage to the centre of Southwold where you can enjoy the beach huts, with their eclectic names and colourful paintwork, stop for a coffee on the Pier, climb the Lighthouse for the magnificent views, or simply wander along to the Harbour to buy some fresh fish at the harbour fish shacks or the Southwold Smokehouse – ask for a bag of ice to keep it cold for the walk home! If you can't be bothered to cook then just nip down to The Harbour Inn or The Nelson (known to the locals as The Nelly!) or The Boardwalk Restaurant at The Pier.
There are some great walks right on the doorstep: the ancient woodland of Reydon Woods for starters, as well as a walk across the River Blyth and Bailey Bridge to the charming seaside village of Walberswick. Stop off for a pint and a ploughmans or fish pie at The Bell Inn. Further down the coast, there is a stunning heathland, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which sits under the auspices of the National Trust and RSPB Minsmere.

Cosy cottage in great location
Lovely cosy cottage with everything you could need. Super comfy bed and nice size rooms.Great location for visiting Southwold. We will definitely return for longer.
Only issue we had was lack of outside lighting now it's dark so early, check in is in the dark. It's hard to see the house numbers to find it. Also key box and walk to the property very dark. We could not see the numbers on the key box and got absolutely soaked trying. A working light over the key box would be helpful and a nice touch would be to pop on the outside light of the property prior to check in so you can see to get in.
Otherwise a fabulous stay, just something to consider to make check in easier in autumn winter.
Lovely, clean and well appointed property.Very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Kitchen cleanliness
Disappointed in the cleanliness of the following ;-
doors of dishwasher, washing machine oven and fridge All needed wiping Also there was no cleaning products at all no toilet cleaner nothing to clean the sink or bathroom basin (which I personally clean every day)
We were only given one hand towel I would expect one each.
The frying pan or oven dishes I could not use they needed replacing as very old.
Cutlery and pot drainer on sink yuck!
Sorry it sounds picky but we stay in many cottages and I really struggled with the kitchen although the rest of the cottage was lovely
