I shared detailed feedback with the hotel. Consistent traveler here with over 30 countries experience. We all know Iceland is more expensive than other areas; please consider this a hostel/low budget hotel quality. The location is good, close to areas that one will want to visit. Although the town is so small that people who are fitter/enjoy walking will find nearly everything is in close distance. The elevator is reliable for those who have mobility issues. For people who have a one night stay and/or are on an extended, budget trip with no kids or elderly folks, this can be a reasonable stop over option.

Hotel cancelled reservation because credit card « did work » I was in transit therefore didn’t know there was an issue until I got there at 11pm. Couldn’t find another hotel( tried 4 hotels then gave up). Credit card was fine- Charged taxi back to airport $260 (more than the cancelled room charge) and no issues. I receive email with check in information from 101 guesthouse same day they canceled

Okay place for a one night stay as it is right in Reykjavik it made walking everywhere really easy. Our room was on the 3rd floor which was sweltering hot so we had to leave the windows open and then just listen to the city noise all night. It worked for one night.

The location of 101 Guesthouse is great. Walkable distance to lots of shops and restaurant on the Main Street of Reykjavik. The receptionist is so nice that she allows me to check in a bit earlier upon my arrival so that I can save time for sightseeing. The room is not spacious but enough for one or two nights stay.

Staff responded to all our unusual requests and was very helpful. Convenient to downtown, Flybus stop right across the street. Sure it is a one-star guesthouse, but for what we needed, it had it, for a reasonable price.

Basic but nice stay!

Perfect place to spend a night, maybe two, on the cheap. Our room was definitely small, but clean and comfortable. The kitchen area was equipped, and there were multiple bathrooms so we never had to wait. Plus you're located right by all of the cute shops and restaurants!

Stayed here for 2 nights for 4 person in a room. What I like about this place is that they have kitchen equipment that u can cook, easy access to restaurants and shopping in 5-10 mins walk There is flybus and gray line bus that goes to the airport in 3am in the morning that is just across the road; very convenient indeed. Customer service is excellent with friendly staff and very helpful.

The location of this stay is fantastic and that’s the only positive thing I have to say. My bed had dried blood on the sheets stained, dried blood on one of the towels. The fan was broken does not work in 419. The rooms were extremely warm at night and you will be hot.

Hard to find entrance to the property. Big sign on the second floor but little to no signs pointing where the entrance is. I would only recommend this place for people who are staying at Reyjavick for a night or two. Price is very good and they give the bare essentials for a good nights rest. For longer stays, you should look into other options which gives better amenities and have more living space.

Awesome quiet place for couples

We Stayed at Guesthouse 101, its a Hostel, but we did it with a private room, was amazing... about the size of an oversized standard bedroom. The bathroom and shower were across the hall, the entire place was VERY quiet which was very nice. The kitchen has a hit plate burner, pans and utensils till make simile meals pending how creative you want to get. The walls are kind of thick so you don't really hear your neighbors, we booked the 31st, because we came in at 0450 am and absolutely nothing is open till about 8am, checking was super simple. Rang the bell, lady unlocked the door, informed where our room was key was in the room... and done. Got some bfast from down stairs the 1st day... $23 per person roughly... eaaaack... but the food was amazing and buffet style. There is a mini mart across the street 1/11 Market... DONT shop there, wait until the BONUS (Iceland grocery store) opens at 10/11am till 7pm, everything is 1/3 the price. Also, the water here you can drink straight from the tap, so bring a ultra flask or save your water bottle from the plane ride and you can fill up from the sink, water taste amazing... everything is EXPENSIVE here, but everything is also very beautiful... the main strip is 5 mins walking from the hotel, there is a body of water you can walk to, but dress warm, it gets
