"We were very happy with the overall quaiity of service and hotel amenities at Double Tree by Hilton Lagoa Azores. The hotel is located in a very quiet area, and was the ideal home base for us. It is the ideal location in the suburbs, and it is located across a private hospital. We felt very safe walking around the neighborhood. In addition, the hotel is only a 10-15 minute drive from the airport and Ponta Delgada. We also liked that it is nearby a grocery store and walking distance to restaurants. The hotel is gorgeous - beautifully decorated, very clean, and well built. Our room was very quiet and clean. When we needed extra supplies, we would request it as needed and the staff was always professional and eficent with delivery. Our bed was extremely comfortable which allowed us to have a restful sleep every night. Our room had a partial view of the ocean and mountains which we truly enjoyed admiring from the balcony. Every morning, we were treated to a full buffet breakfast with a wide variety of selection. The hotel staff (front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance) were amazing - they were professional, helpful, kind and accommodating. This is one of the best hotels have we have stayed in as a family based on the reasons mentioned above, and we would highly recommend this hotel to others travelling to the Azores. A true gem in Lagoa!"
