"The rate is a little higher than I’d expect for this basic quality of a property, but there are limited options in the area. If you want to see the redwoods or just in the area, it’s a clean quiet place to crash. The staff is all very friendly and they have a decent breakfast. The hot tub was out of commission while I was here."

"Front desk staff stayed up until 2 am to make sure we were checked in, even tho we called ahead to let them know we were running late. Super friendly and accomodating. Room was clean. Bar next door seems to be the place to be for more adult fun.

"Lovely building, great staff plus a brilliant setting. Rooms and common areas need some investment as they are definitely carrying an older vibe. Great place to sit and chill"
"Check-in was smooth and efficient — one of the few places where staff actually check and respond to Expedia messages! We really appreciated that they honored our request for two side-by-side rooms, making our stay even more comfortable.
The rooms were impressively clean and thoughtfully furnished. Each included:
A table with two chairs
A large, elongated table/dresser combo
Coffee machine with coffee and condiment packets
Shampoo and body wash packets
Plenty of fresh towels
A spotless tub and toilet
Parking was also a major plus — easy, safe, and located directly in front of the rooms. This made unloading luggage super convenient, especially for our late-night check-in. No stress, no long walks, just park and rest.
Overall, a reliable and well-managed stay. Great value, great service, and hassle-free from start to finish!"
The Hobbit House: Avenue of The Giants Adventure! Hot Tub/ Fire Pit/ 5BDR/ King
10/10 Excellent
"An absolutely lovely property with very nice hosts. Our group of ten took turns cooking with the impressive kitchen, and after having tried almost every appliance we can confidently say they all worked excellently and are clearly well maintained. The road up to the house can be a little tricky, and I would recommend vehicles that can manage steep inclines and have a bit of clearance.I would have appreciated a more detailed inventory of available cookware and dishes, as we ended up bringing redundant pans and bowls which went unused. The hosts themselves were excellent, extremely responsive to a few minor concerns and they proactively gave us a list of local activities to supplement our plans. The few we did incorporate into our schedule ended up being lots of fun and overall it was a very positive experience. As for the rest of the house, it is just as lovely as the photos imply. What we felt was undersold was how lovely the views turned out to be."
Mary's Place is a historic cottage with private garden in the center of town.
10/10 Excellent
"This cute cottage was perfect for my family of four and our pup (thanks again for being dog-friendly -- the basket of toys, blankets, & bowls was such a nice touch!). We didn't have too much time in Garberville but really enjoyed the garden and the decor in the cottage. The clawfoot tub was a bit of a (cool) throwback, and I loved the tapestries and overall peaceful vibe of the place. I'd definitely stay again and would enjoy exploring the area when not in the middle of a 20-hour drive ;). Thanks again. "
