"Somehow we got a Standard cottage which I think is a Hotels.com glitch but we were happy with it. Not many other people otherwise the cottages may have been a bit close together, also quite near the road (Pinotage cottage). Nice pool and spa and deck that looks out onto a dry field with zebra and springbok. Nice view onto the mountains. Well-situated."

"Clean and quiet, the only think I did not like was the toilet that is in the bedroom with no door. the shower is also in the bedroom, but that is ok, I just like privacy on the loo."

"It was a treat to enter such a beautiful, clean, and well-set-up unit. We stayed in the 2 bedroom unit and were very impressed from the Smeg stove to the dishwasher, the aircon worked well and fans were much needed in the bedrooms. The kitchen was well-equipped and we had everything we needed for the weekend. The bathrooms were very clean and well set out. All the beautiful creams and soaps were very much appreciated. "The rooms were not cleaned properly. Behind the bed there was alot of dust and dead insects. The bed was never moved. Rhe bathroom was also dirty. Lots of drad insects. For the duration of the stay, the cleaning staff supposedly cleaned the room and bathroom but the dead insects and dust was never removed. The hotel look good on the outside and the entrance looked clean and welcoming. The location was good. Staff were friendly. "

Wonderful two nights at Duikersdrift

"We stayed in Cottage 2 and it was the most spectacular room we have ever stayed in! We refer to it now as the “perfect room”. I loved all the light and the glass wall that opened up for lovely fresh air. The grounds were beautiful and inviting. We walked around the Park Run, admired the olive and oak trees, and grape plants, and petted the donkeys. The hosts were terrific—warm and welcoming—and the breakfasts were extraordinary. We look for to visiting Duikersdrift again. "

"Tulbagh is a great base to stay for a few days and Mountain Manor is the best accommodation you could hope for. A short drive from the lovely little town with great restaurants and wine farms. Stunning scenery and hiking trails. "

Past its best

"The photo is misleading and the 4 star rating is inaccurate - it is 2 star. The old house has history and the room with the bay window was very comfortable, but the place is deserted and feels much like a sleepy Australian outback hotel when you have to shout hello to get someone's attention, and the pub is not manned and not open. I cannot comment on other rooms and if you like to be left alone then I suppose it is good value as it is cheaper than other places in the area. There is only breakfast which is rank standard. You have to go out for meals."

"It was raining cats and dogs and walking into reception with the fire burning was quite enjoyable. Reception was a pleasure and seemless. Rooms clean and well appointed. Even with load-shedding the essentials were working and the Grill Room gave excellent meals including breakfast. The only "question" I have is why breakfast only starts at 8. Does result in coming late at the office. "
