Staff excellent, very clean room, in my room very bad Wi-Fi, at night little bit noisy. Excellent commuting to the centre and very easy with Tram 7 & 14 always available and the tram stop is just at front of the hotel, very convenient. Also at the front of the hotel there is Maxima shop everything is available food, drinks etc..

Decent budget hotel only a long walk or few stops by tram away from Old Town. Quiet with windows one can open.

Nice, clean, cheap - really do recommend

Very good and nice budget friendly hotel in Maskavas Forštate. Right by the tram stop for line #5 (Daugavapils iela) and a decent Maxima supermarket about 25 meters away. Cheap, clean, lots of TV-channels and good WiFi. Really nice hotel and could really recommend.

Great Management.

This hotel is kind of away from the main tourist area, but it’s quiet and clean; and, the tram is so easy and fast. The market is 2-3 stops. It’s basic accommodation, but comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. There was an issue with some other guests, and management was quick to respond.

You get what you pay for. The rooms shower and wc was kind of dirty and it was very cold. There was a weird smell too. But it was cheap and the workers were very kind and check-in/check-out was easy.

Location was a short tram ride out the centre, the staff were extremely helpful however the room was so hot we didn’t get much sleep one night, we understood as the winters can get so cold but it was unbearable!

It was a short distance from the tram stop, a few stops from the bus station. A bit of a confusing check in experience, I was on the ground floor but was told the room was on the first floor. After that everything was good, comfortable room, not too hot, even though I closed the window as it was next to the road.

Hotel staff was polite and kind. They gave us a fan, because there wasn't A/C in the hotel. On the first two mornings a staff member asked, if we would lile to have omelettes. However, service level varied depending on the staff member and other members didn't ask this. Over all breakfast was quite modest: coffee, water, toast, cheese, ham, liquid yoghurt and muesli. The room was a little bit worn and unclean-like. Our toilet/shower room had strange smell before using shower. Beds were fine and things worked out otherwise good. I think the hotel fits for over night stay or small-budget short holidays.

Dodo Hotel - affordable, clean hotel

Upon arrival, the male receptionist who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and cosy; the shower room and toilet were clean too. Our buffet breakfast each day was good - choices: cereal, yogurt, croissants, cheese/cooked meats/toast/ assorted jams/orange juice/tea/coffees. The breakfast room staff were very friendly and helpful and would make you an omelette if you asked them. We stayed at The Dodo Hotel as the reviews were good. The nearest tram stop to the hotel is about 10/15 yards away from the hotel entrance. It was so easy to get a tram into/back from the city centre. We did walk to the city centre a few times but it takes about 20 minutes. It only costs just over 1 Euro for a single tram ticket which you can buy from any of the Harveson shops. The Maxima supermarket (about 25 yards from the hotel entrance) was great for any snacks/sweets/beer we wanted. We would stay at this hotel again and would recommend it.

Huono äänieristys. Huoneessa olematon ilmanvaihto joten kuuma oli. Yllättävän hyvä sänky ja tyyny. Yleiset tilat olivat siistit, hotellihuone melko nuhjuinen. Vaihdoimme huonetta sillä toinen meistä jäi vessaan lukkojen taakse kun lukko oli niin huonokuntoinen. Samaten suihkunpidike oli huonossa kunnossa ja lähellä pudota. Aamiainen tilattiin vastaanoton tiskiltä ja oli suppea, siihen sisältyi kuuma juoma, mehua, muroja, croissantti ja vaalea leipä. Ei leivänpäällisiä, margariinikin piti pyytää erikseen. Alueena melko epämääräinen ja rähjäinen. Plussaa lähikaupasta.

Hyvä budjettihotelli

Asiansa ajoi, mutta koska oli helle niin ilmastoinnin puuttumisen huomasi. Jääkaappia ei ollut. Lähistöllä ei ruokaravintoloita tai baareja ole. Kulkuyhteydet keskustaan ovat erinomaiset. Raitiovaunupysäkki on vieressä. Automatkailijana arvostin edullista 7€/vrk vartioitua pysäköintiä, mutta kadun varteenkin uskaltaisin auton jättää. Hotellin hinta oli sesonkiin nähden edullinen.
