Bow Lane, Ripple, at bridge over M50 Motorway, 1997. View SE towards Twyning and Tewkesbury, parallel to right of the track-bed of the former ex-Midland Railway Ashchurch - Upton-on-Severn - Great Malvern branch, which was finally closed 1/7/63. The River Severn is over to the right.

Site of former Ripple station, 1997. View southward, towards Tewkesbury and Ashchurch: ex-Midland Ashchurch - Tewkesbury - Great Malvern branch. (See also SO8737 : Ripple Station and SO8737 : Ripple station (remains), 1985). The station house has survived.

Site of former Oil Depot on Ashchurch - Malvern line at Saxon's Lode by River Severn, 1997. View NW towards Malvern, on the former Midland Railway Ashchurch - Great Malvern branch, closed to Upton-on-Severn 1/7/63 (Upton - Malvern 1/12/52). The Depot was supplied mainly by tankers on the River Severn, but was connected to the railway, some track of which is still visible.

Rooms comfortable. Common areas in good repair. My bathroom needed a little attention. Spa and gym area a little limited but not too busy. Stayed 3 times now and the jacuzzi has never been working

Wifi very poor. Poor selection of biscuits when the clubhouse is so remote and closed on an evening. Breakfast expensive for 1 sausage, 1 poached egg and two fatty rations of bacon and 1/2 a tomato & 1 slice of toast with no marmalade or butter.
