"A lovely hotel right on the seafront with a beautiful view of the Isle of Arran from the dining room. We had two rooms for several days..comfy beds and relatively quiet but our outlook very poor in one of them which was a pity. The evening meals were very good and the staff attentive but breakfasts seemed pricey if not included. Swimming pool an added bonus. Location of hotel near to Ayr centre so good location"

"Nice little place and location for an impromptu overnight stay, but wouldn’t choose longer. Seriously uncomfortable bed, seemingly shared bathroom for ground floor room. Didn’t like having to go out into lobby/reception area to use toilet and or shower. Purpose served for a one night stay. No problem with staff or other guests and a convenient location with parking. "

"The Mecure is a walkable distance from the train station, and from its front doors and front rooms one can look right down a main avenue to the Esplanade and the Firth of Clyde. The staff was excellent, helpful, and friendly. Breakfast had a wide choice of buffet items. I also had supper two evenings in the hotel, and the wait staff plus food were very good. The items for vegetarians were fine, but not much was available for vegans. Because of my knee and hip surgeries, I had to ask to change rooms to have a walk-in shower. Do note, if you cannot climb into a tall-sided and narrow bathtub, you need to ask for a room with a walk-in shower. They made the change of rooms for me."

"Flying from prestwick so good location. Good lively bar. Had dinner which was OK. Leaving to early in the morning for breakfast but overall pleasant enough stay."
