"The service at this hotel needs special mention. Nthing was too much trouble and staff went well above and beyond what was expected. Arriving late we were welcomed by the restaurant manager (the only person still working) were shown to our room and offered a late meal (very welcome) asking at reception the next day for recommendations as to where to visit, within 5 minutes a knock on the door and a sheaf of suggestions in english. The restaurant is superb and the food excellent. A thunderstorm...

"Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. My room had a view of the Monte Cassino Abbey so I was very happy with that. The downside is that it was hot in our room and we were told that the air conditioning in the whole building was off until the summer months! We happened to be there on a warm day in May and nothing could be done. We opened the window to cool the room down but that invited a few bugs into the room. "We stayed here about 30 years ago and enjoyed it. No change this time !!!! Room was classic (not modern). Beds a little firm. Balcony view was beautiful. The breakfast was wonderful and staff very pleasant. Does have a lift so that was very helpful with our luggage. Overall a great stay and value."
