The owners of this home have given it a stylish-if-cheaply-built glow up, and the beachfront location at the south end of town can’t be beat.
The view of Twin Rocks framed by the landscape is fabulous, especially at sunset. The plantings around the house are beautiful. The sheltered “mini-beach” immediately off the back deck was a *huge* hit with the kids when the actual beach was too windy. The hot tub was a lovely place to relax and stargaze.
Like many vacation rentals, the layout is a little funky (the two best bedrooms are upstairs, but share a single bathroom with only one small towel bar; the built-in bunks in the basement are strangely placed and awkward to access unless you’re a nimble kid) and the experience of renting this house would definitely benefit from focusing on a few more basics (bath mats, mattress covers, a drying rack for swim gear, mats or carpets to help catch sand *inside* the doors …) rather than giant TV screens in every room, but all in all? It was a spacious, bright, relaxing home base for our three adults and two kids this week.
