"Beautiful looking old hotel with picturesque scenery especially the river Room was lovely size, bed comfy, hot shower Could do with tidying up the patio/garden area and the net curtain needs replacing. Wiping off muddy or coffee marks off the walls in the bedroom. TV needs tuning very difficult to source a channel. I did raise this issue but was told its always been that way! Staff were super friendly, the evening meal was beautiful. Great waitress service"

"We spent three nights here in what was a late booking for a break. We were very pleased that we did. The hotel is full of character and the staff all very friendly and accommodating. Our room was big and the bed very comfortable. The food was very good with a good selection continental breakfast available as well as several other choices including English breakfast. The evening menu provided us with good choices too. Parking was available. A small car park for about 12-15 cars opposite the hotel. There was also an "overflow" available which was left at the hotel up the hill. They also had a quiet room on the first floor for relaxation purposes should you felt you needed somewhere else to go other than your room. In conclusion we would have no hesitation at all about staying there again. Lovely."

"Stayed for one night en route to a North Devon holiday. The room was excellent, spacious, clean and well laid out. A very comfy bed meant a good night's sleep. Bathroom even had a bath. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and had a very good meal. Breakfast was also excellent with a great choice all freshly cooked. Plenty of easy parking and outdoor space. Definitely worth staying and would do so again."

"Comfortable bed. Nice room. Espresso machine in room - excellent. Blinds were a bit broken and not blackout. Single glazing which was mostly ok at this time of year but anyone or vehicle who did go past definitely disturbed our sleep. Bath towels were small, not bath sheets. Lovely friendly staff. Good vibe. Chilled. No parking which we didnt realise until we got there. Would be useful to have that flagged before travelling so you can go straight to one of the public car parks."
