This was the worst rental experience I've had. The host was not effective at communicating. We spent hours on the phone, much of listening to the host berate the VRBO customer support agent. We could not get clear directions on fees or how to get into the property. The host did not want to work through VRBO to cummunicate. The VRBO agent at one point offered to put us up in a hotel as things were not working out. As we were physically checking in at the hotel she suggested, she called to say they had worked things out with the host and we would not be able to stay in the hotel. We ended up staying in an old apartment with no AC, broken lights, and old furnishings and spent close to 4 hours on phone calls, check in hours past the set time and spent more time travelling than our vacation allowed time for.
