It’s 2* Hostel rather than Hotel
It’s not a hotel it’s more of a hostel. There’s NO Staff to assist with any guests needs or issues. There is a lady who arrives after 10am and probably leaves in afternoon There was NO hot water on our 1st day. And it’s hard to take shower in mid February with freezing water. Which we did rather then blowing our day in waiting for anyone to show up.

Great location. Within walking distance of all attractions. Property upstairs was very very noisy, and when I mentioned this to the reception staff, I was made to feel like I was bothering them. Quite unapproachable. Breakfast was quite limited, could have benefited from offering fresh fruit and brown bread. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have been good.

Great place, very impressed with staff. I would rate 5/5 overall. Close to everything. For continental breakfast it was great. The lady in the kitchen who also did the rooms was excellent. I would come back to this place again and would recommend also.

Really nice hotel and good price
This hotel was really nice, and really good located, near Vaticano and Castello San Angelo. It includes wifi and breakfast. It is at 10 minutes to the subway. And the staff were really nice people.

Not bad, not good.
We spend 7 days there. Every day there was some bad smell coming out from the bathroom tubes, also there was moho in the bath. Cleanness was not the best point... Apart of that, service was ok, they don't clean the room every day and we had to ask for more towels...

budget hotel
the room and the bathroom was very small for 3 people. The beds were falling apart and decor was very unwelcoming with awful plastic covers on wall next to bed. the room was reasonably clean but stains on walls. No tea/coffee making facilities. We were not allowed to use air conditioning over the night, thus with open window it was very noisy and it was difficult to sleep. reception open only through the day, sometimes very difficult to find a receptionist as hardly ever was at the reception desk. Good WiFi and great location but very loud traffic outside.

Great Location
I think that hostel is really close to Vatican and not so far away from the city center (we used to walk from hostel to Pantheon and Piazza Navona and eat something in one of many great restaurants) and undergound (which is usefull if You want to see more than Vatican). Room was good but not big and not so clean as we thought it would be (don't worry, it's all about details, generally it was clean). Hostel receptionist was nice, he showed us map and gave us suggestions about what we could see. There is no problem with communication in english as well. I must say that in the hostel there is no facilities to make a tea or coffe yourself after morning breakfast or all day of sightseeing and friedge on coridor is small (space only for couple of bottles)

There was a problem with our room when we arrived but we were transferred to a better hotel and was treated well by the staff. The hotel's a bit rusty but we were mostly out so we were just there to sleep. In general, it's ok.

Nice place but weird hotel
Good location but not exactly what was expected about the hotel, it should be specified that we have to climb 3 floors as this was an unexpected surprise. My room's bathroom had a shower but no division to the rest of the toilet area so everything got wet

GREAT location, not a bad hotel either.
As other reviewers have stated, you shouldn't expect a five star hotel when booking here. The location is fantastic (10 minute walk from the Vatican) but it is an old building and old pensione (not actually a hotel). That said, I did not experience a funny smell in the room itself but the chemicals used to clean the bathroom smelled strong. Our room was actually very spacious but the bathroom needed a little help. You had to go inside the bathroom and close the door in order to use the sink, and there was some mold on the shower tiles. The bathroom fan needed replacing immediately - it was very loud. The good part is that the room tile and part of the bathroom look fairly new. The walls were clean and the appliances were not Chinese knockoffs. They had a nice quiet Samsung air conditioner and Samsung TV. The sheets and towels were very clean as well. The furniture was dated but functional. It looks like they are updating the hotel in steps with the new tile and appliances. The staff was extremely helpful during our stay as well. Overall, for the price, it was a steal if you're not too picky.

Great location, but awful accommodations
The hotel was situated in a great area, minutes away from the Vatican. But the hotel room was so extremely small and very plain, about 10x10. Not a huge deal as we only came back to sleep. But in the morning our showers were ice cold, absolutely miserable. Staff was nice. Spend the extra money and have room to walk and take a warm shower.

Great location
Marvi has the best location possible for the price it offers. Close to most attractions and restaurants. The only negative thing was the bed was a little hard and the room has a bit of an odd smell. The receptionist was such a good man, he was always there when we needed something and catered well for everybody's needs. Overal, had a great stay but hotel could do with a little money spent on it.

No frills hotel near to the Vatican.
Within easy walking distance of all the main sights, especially the Vatican. No room service or evening meals are provided, only a continental style breakfast, although a number of restaurants are within about a 10 minute walk. The staff were very helpful and very polite, helping to make the stay an enjoyable one. The hotel is situated on the third floor of an elegant looking apartment block and even though it has an elevator it would not be suitable for those having a problem climbing stairs. I walked to all the main tourist attractions within Rome, e.g the Pantheon, Coliseum, Spanish Steps and the Vatican etc, using the map provided by the hotel. The room I had was clean and tidy, albeit a little dated, with a small shower room. There was no bath and no electric shaving point, but it did have air conditioning and a small lcd tv. I did not need the air conditioning as I went during November so cannot comment as to how good it may have been. It is situated in a side road full of parked cars and I did not see anywhere you could have parked in the area, so it would be best not to drive there but to take the airport shuttle service which seemed good value for money compared to the taxi service. If, like me, all you really want is somewhere to sleep and to freshen up after a long days sightseeing, then this hotel is perfect.
