Below our expectations (from the pictures)

Bad check-in process, good location; medium-to-bad accomodations. When we arrived, there was no one in the reception and we had no way of contacting them (there was a sign saying they were in the 5th floor, but no one was there also). We had to wait for a while and when someone finally came there was no appology whatsoever, and the check in process took way too long (despite the fact that we explained we were in a hurry). The room was much smaller and worse than in the pictures and had a weird smell that stayed with our clothes and bags when we left. One of the spring mattresses, as well as the table, were in a bad shape. The bathroom was ok, but the shower curtain had a very strong mold smell, which was even more activated when we showered. Wi-fi was not stable. For a quick an "economic" stay maybe this is an option, but we would not recommend. This is our experience, which doesn't mean they don't have the type of rooms and accomodations shown in the provided pictures.

Unfreundliches und uneinsichtiges Personal. Bei unserer Ankunft war der Besitzer des "Hotels" nicht aufzufinden, weshalb wir von einer überforderten und dadurch gestressten Arbeitskraft empfangen wurden. Auch im weiteren Verlauf des Aufenthalts stellte sich heraus, dass das Hotel Versailles nicht den typischen Anforderungen eines Hotels entspricht. So kamen wir eines Abends ins "Hotel" und wurden von einem anschlagenden Hund überrascht, welcher auf unsere Rückfrage hin lediglich hinter ein kleines Törchen der sogenannten Rezeption (lediglich ein Tisch) gesperrt wurde. Es stellte sich heraus, dass dies der Hund des Besitzers war und jederzeit frei im "Hotel" rumlaufen konnte. Wir entschieden uns also nach einer, aufgrund der TV Geräusche, unruhigen Nacht, das Hotel am nächsten Morgen zu verlassen. Auch hier war jedoch keinerlei Personal aufzufinden.

Cheap, convenient, and safe.

Hotel Versailles is a simple small hotel in a super convenient location- close access to bus stops, banks, grocery store, and restaurants. The first night we checked in we were assigned to a room on the 5th floor (the hotel is on the 1st & 5th floors), but told they didn't have hot water; the next morning we were moved to a room on the 1st floor with hot water...it was inconvenient, but not a deal breaker. We couldn't get our AC to work- again, inconvenient but not dire, so we kept the giant window open instead, making the temperature nice, but loud as we faced a busy street and Rome is active at ALL hours! It would have been nice for more modern bedding, and additional pillows, but we had a mini-fridge in the room and that was really helpful for keeping breakfast food and wine. Is Hotel Versailles super modern? No. But the price was great, location perfect, and the owner/manager was extremely helpful with recommendations, directions, and suggestions (we asked questions daily). I wasn't expecting a glamorous hotel, I wanted cheap, convenient, and safe, and that's exactly what I got. I would totally stay here again, and suggest you do the same.

Amazing place

They were super friendly and kind. Amazing place to stay right in corner of the St Fiore Basilica. You don’t have to walk to much to reach Ufizzi Gallery and Pitti Palace.

Nadie nos recibió cuando llegamos. Tuvimos que esperar con un bebé de 7 meses a qué el empleado nos abriera la puerta. Muy mala presencia y predisposición. La habitación normal pero la limpieza muy mala. La ubicación es lejos del centro, hay varios colectivos que te acercan. No deberían calificarlo como hotel, no cumple los requisitos mínimos para eso.

Η διαμονή μας στο ξενοδοχείο ήταν αρκετά καλή. Ο χώρος του δωματίου που μας έδωσαν κάπως μικρός αλλά δεν μας ενδιέφερε καθώς όλη μέρα λείπαμε. Το wifi δεν είχε καλό σήμα στο δωμάτιο. Το δωμάτιο καθημερινά ήταν καθαρό και το προσωπικό ευγενικό και εξυπηρετικό. Στην γύρω περιοχή υπήρχαν πολύ κοντά από στάσεις λεωφορείων μέχρι φαρμακείο και ακόμα και με τα πόδια ήσουν περίπου σε δέκα λεπτά στην είσοδο της Piazza del Popolo

Hotellet var ganske fint og lå i et område med en del restauranter rundt omkring. Et minus var dog at der er meget lydt, og vi var nødt til at bede receptionisten om at skrue ned for TV’et om aftenen da vi kunne høre det meget tydeligt på vores værelset. Men for prisen levede det fint op til forventningerne.

3 premiers jours très décevants (salle de bain : moisissures dans douche, pas de pression d'eau, eau tout juste tiède (quand elle est chauffée) - plus du tout d'eau dans les toilettes le 4 ème jour. Oreiller sale et troué. Murs sales. Beaucoup de poussières sur bord de fenêtre. Ascenseur défaillant. On nous change de chambre après 3 nuits. Cela était mieux, sauf écoulement lavabo bouché. Est il possible de nous dédommager pour les 4 premiers jours du séjour qui était catastrophique, sachant qu'on était 2 adultes et un enfant ? .

Worst hotel experience - EVER

I very rarely post any reviews but my experience at this hotel was far too bad to leave unmentioned. We had booked this hotel for a 4 night stay, 6-10th October. As our flight was due to arrive late on the 6th October I emailed the hotel a few days before we were due to arrive to inform them that we may be late, mainly to ensure that we would not turn up and have no access to hotel. I then received a response email which stated this would be no problem at all, and we were provided with a phone number if anything was to change. Which I was very happy about considering I may be late. Fast forward to when we arrived into Rome, we ended up not being as late as I had originally planned and turned up at the hotel roughly around 10/10:30pm. After finally finding the hotel after walking around the same street for roughly 30mins (it is very hidden in an apartment block style building), we were greeted by a less than pleasant host. He stood at the entrance, and when I said my name to confirm my booking he kept stating that he had one booking which was for one night only. When I said that was wrong and I had booked for 4 nights he started to laugh at me and shook his head and proceeded to walk into the reception area. We reluctantly followed as we were completely confused as to what the problem was, considering I had emailed a few days prior and nothing was mentioned regarding duration of stay. This man then went around the back of the reception desk and proceeded to disagree.

The hotel was in an area pretty close to the centre of Rome. But, the host was reeeeeeally slow although friendly and helpful. The room was clean enough. In the future I would prefer a well known franchise hotel instead.

Chambre correcte sans plus. Pression d'eau inexistante 2 jours sur 4. Chambre non faite une journée. Au check-in, très correct, bonnes explications de l'homme qui nous a accueilli. Au check-out, la dame voulait me faire repayer la chambre que j'avais déjà payée par Expedia. Elle ne comprenait ni l'anglais ni le français. J'ai fini par être obligée de me fâcher et de lui dire que nous devions partir car nous avions un avion à prendre. Elle a fini par nous laisser partir. Désagréable fin de séjour.

Good hotel,good location

This was our second stay at Hotel Versailles and this time we brought another couple who had not been to Rome. The hotel is clean and quiet in a fantastic untouristy area but with great restaurants. Easy walking to all the sites and the bus station and very close to bus stops also.

It's inconvenient.

There is no Wi-Fi on the fifth floor.The blanket is dirty. It's very noisy. On the last day, only hot water comes out
