Old Orchard Inn
10/10 Excellent
"We were fortunate to get a room on the ground floor. It was so convenient to park right outside our door and also had an additional back door to the hallway leading to the elevator. The lobby was beautiful and check in was easy and timely. Breakfast at the restaurant was delicious both mornings with friendly and efficient service. The view over the apple trees stretched across the valley all the way to the water. The rooftop terrace was a relaxing place to read or just sit and take in the sunshine. A couple of negatives was issues with our bathroom. The regulator for the tub did not have the correct handle and therefore it was difficult to operate. A hand held shower head would have been an ideal addition. Also grab bars in the shower should be considered for overall safety purposes. The fresh apple on the table in our room was a clever touch that I appreciated."

Oceanfront Garden Cottage - Gateway to Attractions & Towns. Private Cove Mooring

"As we drove up to the house, we could see the magnificent view it commanded from the deck with four different colored Adirondock chairs. When we walked into the house, the kitchen was in front of you, with two bedrooms to the left on either side of the bathroom. The owner did a great job on details, e.g. under cabinet lights in the bathroom with beautifully tiled shower, and lighted vanity mirror. There was a sitting room with television and comfy furnishings. A dinette set was off to the right of the kitchen. In short, the layout was perfect for our five day stay. The town of Chester is within 10 minute drive with a couple of good restaurants, and music on the weekend. The harbor is beautiful. Its also a 20 minute drive to Hubbards Cove where we found our favorite place for happy hour, Tuna Blue (3pm to 5pm). The Shore restaurant was also in Hubbards Cove if you're looking for a lobster dinner in a mess hall type environment (opened in 1934). The host, Yi, who lives on the other side of the home, was great as we needed some help to get our laundry done. If there was any negative (any its really hard to find one with this place) there's a gun club that meets on Sundays and you can hear the shooting for a couple of hours. Its far away, but still discernible. We just went to the Ovens Park that day (a must see in this part of Nova Scotia). All in all, this place is a 10, a fantastic place to stay and if we visit Nova Scotia again we will definitely stay here."

"Absolutely everything was thought of. This is one of the prettiest places we’re ever had the privilege of staying. It was perfectly laid out and designed, gorgeous decorating, every amenity, and every comfort. We could only stay one night, but I’d be back here for the long term if I could! And the hosts were friendly and responsive, came to greet us personally, and made check-in and check out easy. Thanks so much for letting g us stay in this little slice of heaven."
