"We absolutely loved our stay at Pair-a-dice! The view of Lake Michigan was amazing, especially the sunsets. We enjoyed coffee on the deck in the mornings and drinks in the evenings, The cottage was comfortable and clean while still having the historic charm of Highland Park.The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for cooking and feeding a large group with plenty of seating. We brought our own blender and spices. The location was fantastic — convenient to the beach and just a short distance from downtown Grand Haven. It made it easy to enjoy everything the area has to offer.Communication with our host, Jay, was prompt, friendly, and very accommodating throughout our stay.A couple of things future guests should know: there are 33 steps to get up to the cottage, so it could be challenging for anyone with mobility issues or when carrying luggage, groceries, beach chairs, and other items. Also, the trash and recycling area is a bit of a walk from the cottage. It would have been helpful to know the pickup schedule for both ahead of time so we could have planned accordingly.We had a wonderful week in Grand Haven and would happily return."

"It was an amazing location! We easily walked to the beach and into town. The house was great - lots of places to gather and socialize and very high end furnishings and amenities. It does live a bit loud so if you have people on different schedules could be difficult."

"Overall we had a very nice & relaxing beach vacation that was very much needed. The absolute best part was the private beach access so if that is the reason you are booking, then go for it. The house itself was OK. It's a bit dated but it suited our needs. We didn't spend too much time in the house between going to the beach & downtown. Some things to consider if you are traveling with elders, small children, or handicapped persons: there is no other way but up 25 stairs to get to the front door (a bit less if going in through the back patio), there is also about 50 stairs to get down to the beach, the shower is extremely small (I am 5'2" & struggled to maneuver). A few other points to note, the trundle bed was not able to fully come out without moving a dresser & that mattress is pretty bad in terms of comfort, the metal frames on the beds are flimsy & make noise whenever anyone moves. Some positives: there is covered parking for 2 vehicles, the kitchen was well stocked with dinnerware, the communication with the host was excellent, access to grocery stores was very convenient, the neighborhood is tranquil, & as mentioned earlier, the private beach access is what made our vacation great."

"My only concern was the overall cleanliness of the property. The floors were noticeably dirty, and the windows appeared as though they had not been thoroughly cleaned in quite some time. Given the property’s beautiful views, it was disappointing that the condition of the windows made it difficult to fully appreciate them.Considering the premium price point of the rental, we expected a higher standard of cleanliness and attention to detail. The property itself is beautiful, but improved housekeeping and overall upkeep would have made our experience much more enjoyable and better aligned with the cost of the stay"

"This is our third time staying here. It really is the perfect location to walk to the city beach or a quick drive (or nice walk) to town. The outdoor space is fabulous and the location at the top of the dune under the trees means there is always a cool breeze keeping the temperature always comfortable without air conditioning. We loved falling asleep to the sound of the lake. The house is well laid out and fit our two families. It had everything we needed. I look forward to staying again,,"

"The house is dated but functional. The oven is on the same circuit as at least two other boxes and went completely off when we tried to use it. We discovered this eventually and reset a GFCI in the kitchen but couldn't use it when we needed to. The front step at the entrance is definitely not to code due to its improper height, and presents a falling hazard. A larger water heater is also needed. As far as the sliding door by the pool, you need to muster all of your strength to open and close it, as it is very old and presumably out of plumb. Other than that, the house was fine and served us well."
