The Goat Loft - “The best stay in the region!”
Welcome to The Goat Loft! We offer a private country-cottage-farmhouse feel with friendly goats and sheep to pet on our 13-acre farmette nestled in the woods. It’s quiet and relaxed and feels remote while being 15 minutes from everything.
Enjoy morning coffee on the deck with the goats and sheep and great star watching at night to the songs of tree frogs. Dining, shopping, history, breweries, wineries, fantastic cycling, kayaking and river fun, and hiking all minutes away! The space Looking for a quiet getaway in the woods and in the country on a farm close to the mountains, rivers, and hiking but minutes away from everything?
Welcome to The Goat Loft!
There’s a bit of everything for anyone all minutes away.
Fishing, tubing, and kayaking on Shenandoah and Potomac rivers, hiking on the Appalachian Trail, miles and miles of scenic cycling, historic Harpers Ferry, Leesburg, and Charlestown, breweries, wineries, vineyards, shopping, dining, and so much more is only 15 minutes away.
Hey, cyclists! The cycling here here in Western Loudoun County is fantastic. Scenic roads, gravel grinding, rolling hills for miles and miles… I don’t do as much I used too, but I can recommend short rides and long rides that are great.
Or just chill out on the private deck with a huge shade umbrella and comfy deck furniture and watch the animals. Do some yoga or meditate. It’s quiet and low stress back here and we’re well off the road.
Maybe take a long walk down the gravel road and talk to the horses and cows.
At night the star watching from the deck is great and the songs of the tree frogs are amazingly zen.
We’ve got 300mbps high speed internet and WiFi so if work calls, you’re covered. But screw work!
The goats and sheep are super friendly and curious. Feel free to let the kids feed the animals the animal cracker we left on the counter. Or apples or greens from the grocery store. They love leaves from the trees too!
Good dogs are always welcome and there’s lots of smells, sights, our dogs, and lots of good walking. Please bring a leash though! The chickens, geese, and goats are often roaming about doing their thing.
Farm life is farm life. Mud season is real. Bugs and smells and hunting season all happen. Hunting season echos through the hills. We do live here and there’s equipment and half finished projects and at sometimes a bit of mess. And, as life and luck changes, sometimes what we have and offer may be different. But it is our little slice of Heaven and we’re happy to share it with you! Guest access Full use of the separate apartment excluding the locked armoire located in the closet. Full private kitchen and bathroom facilities. You’re welcome to walk around and explore the farm as well. Please don’t removed or take our stuff though - “do unto others” and all that. Cool?
And… We get it, you’re in the area for a wedding and you want to catchup or you’ve got friends or family around here and want them to see the goats or to spend time with them. PLEASE ask ahead of time if you’re you’re thinking of having people come over that aren’t part of the reservation.
This is our home, we love our goats, and our privacy, and we love sharing the place through AirBNB with our guests, BUT we need to know who is here and reserve the right to not allow extra people here. Thank you for understanding! Other things to note We’ve tried to offer and stock everything you’d need, but just holler if you have a question or a need!
