"I stayed in room 105 which has an outdoor entrance located next to the designated smoking area. I contacted the front desk since I was concerned that smoke would come in the room when the window was open or the air conditioning was on. The front desk clerk said the smoking area was just set up the day before (I had stayed at this hotel just the week prior and also years before and the smoking area has always there as far as I've noticed). He said the smoking area shouldn't be a problem but there was a local bylaw that restricted no smoking less than 20 feet from any hotel entrance or any outside room access. He said he would talk to the management about moving the smoking area. He didn't offer to change rooms. Fortunately, I did not witness anyone using the smoking area while I was there so it wasn't a problem.
The outside door did not fit well in the door frame and there was a tear in the carpet which was mended. The room had noticeable wear but it was adequate for a one night stay."
