Arcadia Lodge is charming and relaxing ✨, with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind. Greg and Peter were fantastic hosts—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The breakfast was delicious, and definitely a highlight of our stay. ☺️ The rooms were neat, tidy, and very comfortable, making it easy to feel at home. Every detail was thoughtfully cared for, creating a cosy and inviting space that made our stay truly enjoyable.

Such a beautiful property- we especially loved our gourmet breakfast on the balcony overlooking the bay and being able to easily walk into town. Peter and Greg were very accommodating hosts - we so enjoyed our time in Russell.

Excellent accommodation and wonderful hosts We had the pleasure of spending three days and three nights at Arcadia Lodge in Russell and truly enjoyed every moment of our stay. The lodge is exceptionally well maintained, spotless, and clearly run with great attention to detail. We would especially like to thank the fantastic hosts, Greg and Peter. They were always approachable, provided us with many great tips for activities in and around Russell, and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay. The breakfast was excellent and clearly prepared with a lot of care and love. You can really feel the passion that goes into every aspect of running this lodge. From our side, this is an easy five out of five stars. Many thanks to Greg and Peter – all the very best to both of you, and we hope to return one day!

A Truly Memorable Stay at Arcadia Lodge, Russell Two couples from Australia travelling together were absolutely delighted with our time in the Bay of Islands. Our stay at the beautiful Arcadia Lodge in the charming town of Russell made the experience even more special. Arcadia Lodge is a boutique accommodation overlooking the picturesque Matauwhi Bay, just a short and pleasant walk into the heart of Russell. This charming historic home is tastefully appointed, blending character with modern comfort. Our suites were very comfortable, featuring king-size beds and thoughtful touches throughout. What truly made our stay memorable was the outstanding hospitality offered by our hosts, Greg and Peter. Greg shared fascinating insights into the history of the home and provided us with detailed information about Russell and the Bay of Islands region. He also went above and beyond by making restaurant and tour bookings on our behalf. In addition to their warm hospitality, the ultimate highlight was the beautifully presented three-course breakfast created each morning by Peter, featuring fresh and preserved ingredients from their garden. If you're planning a trip to the Bay of Islands, a stay at Arcadia Lodge is an absolute must. We loved our stay at Arcadia Lodge. Greg & Peter were amazing hosts. The room was extremely clean & comfortable, with a beautiful view. The breakfasts were so delicious every morning & prepared superbly by Peter & delivered expertly by Greg.The house is old, but so well maintained & beautifully furnished. Just so much character. An easy walk in to town & the beach. We truly hope we are able visit again!

This historic house, built in the early 1900's has been beautifully maintained with exquisite attention to detail throughout. The views are stunning and the breakfasts, prepared by one of the hosts who is a trained chef are to die for. Easy walking distance into Russell, with loads to do, see, and places to eat there. A variety of rooms and super friendly hosts, can't wait to return, summer or winter.

Spectacular

Greg and Peter were wonderful hosts. The room was extremely clean and a good size. The views of their garden and towards the bay were spectacular. Their breakfast was an absolute masterpiece - great choices, variety each day and so well served. We absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend them to anyone looking for special accommodation so close to Russell town centre.

Historic Bnb with multi level rooms. Hosts were gracious Would return with request of a main level room which had views. The attic room was with no view, low ceilings and slanted floors. Enjoyed Russell and it’s history.

Amazing Arcadia!

Arcadia Lodge is a very special place. The hosts, Greg and Peter, have lovingly crafted a nest of tranquility overlooking the water, on the edge of Russell. From the accommodation to the meals, to the caring from G and P, it was an idyllic stay.

Arcadia Lodge is a beautiful old historical home which has been upgraded to luxury standard with decor and furnishings that reflect the history of the time. All this surrounded by a beautiful garden. Guests can not fail to relax due to the outstanding hospitality of the hosts,the attention to detail and the special touches that make guests feel special. As well as this the breakfast offerings are second to none served on the deck when possible overlooking Matauwhi bay.The location is excellent. A few minutes to Russell township by car or an easy ten minute walk. Restaurants,activities,shops,vineyards and beaches are all easily accessible if you can tear yourself away from the ambience of the lodge. A world class accomodation without the airfare!

Wonderful place to stay with amazing views

Just a short walk out of the centre of Russell, the Arcadia Lodge was a great place to stay. Both Peter and Greg were amazing hosts, offered us loads of great information about the area and their restaurant recommendations were fantastic. The rooms were spacious and the breakfasts were excellent, all served on a wonderful terrace overlooking the small bay. Highly recommended.
