Meeting up with lots of my relatives was great. Yes, the room was clean, but the kettle was not working for my early morning cup of tea (I didn't use it the previous evening)! The staff were efficient, sympathetic and friendly, but were unable to get a replacement kettle to me. Also, when I booked, I did say that I needed a gluten-free diet but the biscuits in the room were not gluten-free! I consider that the cost for one night's stay was expensive, being the full price for two people in a double room. I was by myself and I feel that there should have been some reduction for single usage. (I should have asked for a second breakfast to take home with me!) If there is another family get-together in the future, in view of all the above, I will not book into The Playden Oasts Inn, unless, of course, it is at a much fairer price and/or I receive some compensation for my loss. It's a charming property with friendly and helpful owners and great staff. The food is excellent. It's not fancy but the bed and room were comfortable with everything you'd need. Pleasant surroundings and close to Rye and Camber Sands.

A pleasant stay.

We had a very pleasant two night stay in a lovely roundel room. The restaurant food was good and service friendly and attentive. The location is pretty and only a few minutes drive from Rye. I'm sure we will return.

Worth a stay

Everything about our stay could not be faulted. Friendly reception on arrival. Told all we needed to know straight away and made to feel very welcome. Separate restaurants as we had our dogs with us and we were the only ones in ours but still were treated very attentively. Good varied menu with several specials on offer. Prices are reasonable and on par with others offering a similar service. Breakfast was a limited offering but still very good. The character of the hotel is everything. It is an ultimately an old farm building after all and it is everything you would hope for. Modern where it needs to be but still retaining its heritage.

We enjoyed our stay at Playden Oasts Inn. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Breakfasts were good. An added bonus is the hotel is dog friendly and we had a room with a little private garden and there was a separate restaurant that was dog friendly for us to have breakfast and an evening meal. Would recommend.

Great stay.

Really lovely stay in this quiet little Oast House. We stayed in a round room, beautifully decorated with ensuite shower room. Tea and coffee and biscuits, TV in room. Plenty of drawers and cupboard space for clothes. Room clean and tidy. Breakfast was lovely, and everyone was so friendly. We also had an excellent roast dinner on the Sunday. Just a short walk into Rye, which was a bonus. Would totally recommend it, and we hope to stay there again.

Very nice property that is a converted oast house so you have the circular rooms that are the restaruant areas. Old creaky stairs etc make this hotel have a pleasant atmosphere. Well worth a try for somewhere different. Good rooms and facilities. Very helpful friendly staff.

Seem to have done this before. Friendly staff good room in the oast not too keen on the bath in the bedroom, difficult to get in and out needs hand rail also needs a towel rail as there is no where to dry towels

Very friendly welcome by Kim and all the staff. Food was excellent, but the bathroom needed updating. The shower water pressure was bad and shower head needed replacing. House keeping only cleaned our cups and did not make up the room.
