"This hotel has a super cool vibe with an homage to Josephine Baker. The location is the best! Right across the street starts the old section of the city that everyone is there for. The breakfast in the hotel is great. There were also some nice cafes and dining right across the street and Nextdoor. Parking in the street was affordable, and easier than it looked. "

"We stayed in the new Cary Grant suite, which was beautiful! A kitchenette and large living space with a large bedroom and bathroom, an amazing view, and a lovely private patio looking out over a koi pond. It was perfect. The location is great but it does require ascending two steep inclines to get to the room. Service, however, was lacking and communication was poor. Breakfast was not at all worth the modest 11E charge. We had breakfast twice in our 5 day stay and both times there was just dry bread to be toasted, dry and uneatable little pastries, hard boiled eggs, and yogurt (which was very good). No housekeeping, trash collection, or fresh towels during the entire stay. We saw 3 staff members during the stay but no one introduced themselves so I'm still not sure who we could have asked for anything. One woman, who may have been a cleaner, sat outside and chain smoked quite a bit. Other than her, the other two gentlemen we saw were polite but just not forthcoming with information. We parked in the recommended garage, but please know that it is several blocks away from the hotel. Overall, the space itself was incredible though and Sarlat is a fabulous place to visit and in a perfect location along the Dordogne Valley for seeing this beautiful corner of France."

"Lovely large room …so clean! Breakfast good, adequate. Helpful staff… parking bit of chsllenge( very narrow garage space 200 meters down the street and limited in number)…just inside old town, perfect for walking, but traffic in and out a bit much!!"

"Truly beautiful setting, wonderfully elegant. Dining on the terrace with hot air balloons floating on the horizon- so picturesque. Wonderful place. Indoor and outdoor pools provide excellent relaxation. Many good restaurants nearby, but we were happy breakfasting and dining at the chateau. "

"This was a magnificent experience. The chateau is surrounded by beautiful gardens and nature. The sounds, smells, and views are spectacular. It has a convenient location yet feels very private. The bedrooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are numerous, clean, and pleasant. There are many places to sit and relax including the excellent rooftop deck. The stairs to the three second floor bedrooms are a bit steep but with good railings. There are many choices of dining areas, indoor, outdoor, sunny, shady. The pool is lovely but there is no hot tub. There are many pleasant short walks around the house. The nighttime sounds are wonderful. The flowers, gardens, and art work are interesting and a joy to behold! We highly recommend this petit chateau."

"This place is great, beautiful all around. I will be back. If you´re going by train, do call Christine, the owner, in advance. If she can, she will pick you up at la gare. Otherwise you have to download Sarlat´s taxi cab application before going, because there is no Uber nor a normal taxi service in town. Walking to the hotel from the Centre Ville will take around 10 minutes and it´s uphill. From la gare...maybe 20... but with luggage it can be hard. Ohh! Do sign up for breakfast and Christine´s amazing brownies and listen carefully to her recommendations. She really knows her region and will advise you wisely."
