"They told us on route to the airport the house was not available and we could stay elsewhere.We tried to cancel but VRBO dragged their feet and after 2 nights in hotel rooms we took up the offer rather than lose all our money. The alternate place was nice but no view or place to sit in the sun without paying 50 US dollars a day for a club 10 minute walk from house. Disappointed with the experience with VRBO to say the least."

"Our stay at Pirates Cove was fantastic! Our family was so at home in this residence! It was a great fit for our family and the location was perfection! The pool is so underutilized and the beach was nearly private the entire time we were there. The water was warm and calm for little kids and adults alike to enjoy and Barefoot Beach Bar and food was superb! The house is well stocked and has everything you need. "Great location and spectacular views. Nice yard. The house is spacious and must have been fantastic when it was new. Regretfully, it needs some improvements. Water leaked into dining room when it rained, dishwasher and oven didn’t work, kitchenware old and worn, several cracks in masonry, furniture old, master bedroom AC inadequate (we had to sleep in another bedroom). There’s more, but you get the idea. Also, you have to use about 2 km of rough dirt road to get to it, and when it rains hard...

"On arriving pleasantly surprised to the size of room and an excellent breezy view of Caribbean Sea and to kitchen porch outside of property beautiful breezy Mountain View’s creating deep calm. St Kitts is very inviting to the spirits. Reason for rating below is property on the outside stairs if one does not use the elevator is filthy with what looks like bird mess. The elevator went out for approx 30mins and no backup generator was initiated. That was extremely scary; imagine being locked in elevator. The only two weekly housekeeping ladies were pleasant and the staff that welcome me at front desk lobby.. Towels were requested after no one came for housekeeping and I was shocked to be told I could wash them. I did receive after insisting; yes I see a washer and dryer in room but I was not so informed that guest wash the hotel towels. I suggest this place in as my room was well equipped to cook, wash, dryer etc… it ought to state this is an apartment not really a hotel. Also, because it’s 5 mins drive to town. There was only one restaurant called Safeway that cooked excellent meals. Otherwise, one must drive into Basseterre to get breakfast and definitely a late dinner."

"Our stay at the Royal St Kitts was absolutely wonderful! The report was spotless, beautifully maintained, and the entire staff was attentive and always willing to help. The food at Splash was outstanding. Every meal was fresh, delicious and exceeded our expectations. This was our second stay at the hotel, and once again they didn’t disappoint. The level of service, hospitality, and attention to detail continues to impress us. We highly recommend the Royal St Kitts Hotel and look forward to returning again in the future!"

"Our family loved our stay at Villa Alamandra! We traveled as a family of five with two kids (ages 6 and 11), my husband, and grandma. The villa is gorgeous, spacious, and immaculate. The pool is a major plus; it stays at a cool temperature which is perfect for a plunge after a long hot day at the beach. All the rooms have AC to make it comfortable to sleep at night. None of the host’s photos show the beautiful high vaulted ceilings on the top level; the ceiling look almost like a ship. My kids loved seeing the same family of monkeys that visit the property every day just before sunset. The tap water is totally drinkable and actually tastes good! The villa is super quiet and we felt totally safe. I really cannot think of any negatives about this place; the parking can be a little tricky but you get the hang of it. I highly recommend this villa for families; you will love it! We will definitely re-book this place in the future!"
