"It was my second visit to Bayeaux, and the second stay in the well located and charming Hotel Le Lion d'Or. Onsite parking is a bit of a trick, but do-able. Their restaurant is first class, and a stop in the bar is a must. The rooms are clean and quiet, but may be up a couple of flights of stairs. There is no elevator. Willing staff will help with luggage. The rooms are spotless and roomy and often have charming views of the interior courtyard. Staff is phenomenal. "

"We had a rented car, so we appreciated the convenient parking right at the hotel. There is optional secure parking for a moderate fee. We had a "double" room, which was very small with tiny cupboards for clothing and other items. The room was clean, comfortable, well maintained and quiet."

"Caen is a very nice city. The hotel was close to the bus system allowing us to get around without having a car. The hotel staff was very informative and helped us with any questions we had. We stayed her for two nights allowing us to visit the Caen museum and have our personal tour of the DDay sites. Would go back if ever in the area. "

"This is our second stay with this hotel. We chose this hotel because it located close the train station, close to restaurants and shopping, and close the pick up point for Overlord tours. The employees are friendly and helpful. It is also close to museums. There is no elevator to the second floor. We love to hear the Nearby Cathedral bells in the morning and at night. "

"The hotel was excellent. I chose it for its proximity to the train station as I was planning day trips to Bayeux and Deauville, but it is still an easy walk to the historic centre of the city and also is very close to the tram routes and a free navette (shuttle) to the centre which I did not use but saw it go past. My room was spotlessly clean and very quiet, and the front desk staff were very friendly and seemed to enjoy their work. The breakfast had lots of variety and was delicious. I highly recommend it."
