"Very quirky property, traditional French style in middle of St Valery with everything this beautiful town has to offer on the doorstep. Public parking available on the road just up from hotel. We stayed in Lawrence of Arabia suite which was interesting. Room to spread out in living area. Breakfasts are fantastic, with lovely fresh produce. Lovely host. "

"Chance au Roy is situated in the countryside outside Aigneville. The accommodation is part of an estate, the owners living in a chateau the accommodation is in the grounds. It’s a beautiful setting but in need of some restoration. When we arrived we had a lovely welcome from Elizabeth the owner, she hadn’t been expecting us, despite booking ,but showed us a room that was available. "We are enjoyed our stay very much. The flat is ideal for 2 people and had everything we needed as well as being in a superb location. It is worth climbing the 38 steps for the great views of the beach! We found the bed very comfortable and there was no problem with the mattress. The only inaccuracy in the online description was stating that there was a hot tub (we certainly didn't expect one in this type of property.)."

"We had a superb room on the fourth floor - spectacular views and spotlessly clean. It needed a little revamp, though, as there was a hole in a curtain and stains on the carpet, which they had tried to cover with a small mat. There was one mirror, but this was on the back of the door. The bathroom was great, but the towel rail was situated behind and above the toilet and bidet - not the most hygienic position. The breakfast was wonderful and there was an amazing amount on offer, but it was expensive for a person with a small appetite. It’s a delightful place to stay and all the staff seemed friendly, efficient and helpful. "
