"It’s hard to accurately describe how wonderful Livia’s Villa is, so I’ll offer this comment from a friend who arrived first: “It’s like stepping into a dream.” 15 of us traveled from the US and a few points in Amsterdam to celebrate my husband’s birthday. No one wanted to leave.The property is gorgeous, Livia is an exceptional host, the town and many amenities are close by, and Nonna Maria’s dinner on the first night was wonderful. We’d absolutely come back and are already planning our trip! "

" The hosts were very nice. When I could not get transportation from the train station to the hotel, one of the owners came and picked me up. I tried to give her money to pay for that and she wouldn’t accept it. They also let me stay a bit later in the afternoon so that I could meet up with an Uber. Great location from which to explore Salemi. I would definitely recommend it."

"This is a lovely traditional country house surrounded by its own grounds but with other properties nearby. It is beautifully quiet (apart from cicadas) and very relaxing. The children loved the pool, which is set in its own gated area; the only downside being there is no shade near it except very early morning and late afternoon. We all immediately felt at home. Riccardo is charming and his English excellent; he was regularly in touch to make sure we had everything we needed, organised the home chef for us one day, recommended restaurants and was very quick to respond to any questions. On arrival there were eggs, butter cheese and jam, a white and red wine, bread and olive oil. The kitchen has everything you could need and plenty of plates and cutlery and there's individual aircon in each bedroom. The village is 5 minutes by car and there are two small supermarkets, an excellent pizzeria, bread shop and icecream parlour. We had a wonderful family holiday and my husband has already mentioned that he'd like to go back at a less hot time of year."

"This house was beautiful and the pool was fantastic but the road to the house was very dangerous and guests definitely need a four wheel drive to get to the house. The house was a bit spooky at nights. Top floor was very noisy and everything shook when you moved and lots of noise from rats in the walls, and birds and shutters moving... so a bit scary for my taste. However Paolo was super nice and took very good care of us."
