Firstly, what a stunning location!! Good for the soul! The room was perfect and a special shout out to Tyler, Tracey and Jess, they all looked after us very, very well, thank you for a fab stay 😀 ❤️ We will return.
Had a fab weekend in a room with a great view. Lovely hotel if you like history and buildings with a story me and my husband do. The food and drink was good and there is a great walk to Salisbury town stepping back in time.
The historic aspect of the hotel is unique and quaint. The proximity to the river, the walking path into town thru the meadows and past gardens is stunning. The vistas of the countryside and flora and fauna were truly spectacular.
Staff were helpful, rooms are snug - but clean and comfortable. A memorable stay. Will return & recommend to others. A great base point for visits to local sights such as the Salisbury Cathedral, Old Sarum castle ruins, Stonehenge, and the New Forest area.
A lovely scenic location with a lot of history. It is has a lot of original features, so fairly steep stairs to access the rooms. My room was clean and had a large modern bathroom, there were quality white cotton bedsheets and a comfy bed. I appreciated the tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The view I had was of the river which was lovely and you could hear it from the open window. The food in the restaurant was freshly prepared and tasty, you have everything on site for a really pleasant stay. It was an easy 15 minute to walk along the tow path into Salisbury. I’d definitely visit again.
Great little pub by the water with heaps of personality. A climb of 2 flights of stairs but luckily we didn’t have much luggage to take up. Great breakfast and friendly owner.
Beautiful old historic property on beautiful grounds just on the river. Quiet, good walks very close to center of city. Pub & restaurant are historic & interesting and food is excellent. We just loved our stay.
I only had a sausage breakfast roll but it was excellent. I had a room overlooking the river and it was great to have a coffee in the morning watching kingfishers from my room. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful.

A wonderful little hotel. Beautiful room and great friendly staff. Easy pleasant walk into the city centre
The staff was amazing. Location was great the beautiful old historic hotel sits right on top of the beautiful waterfall and river. Just incredible place.
We were told this building was 960 years old. It is very delightful and a wonderful walk to town.
Dinner was amazing - we had the bang bang chicken and steak frites, plus chocolate mousse. Every bite was fabulous! Kuddos to the chef.
I would say the "king" bed is more like a queen in the United States, and there was a lot of pub noise, but it all quieted down after 10:30 - so we slept very well.
I would highly recommend this to anyone.
The hotel is a very old mill from the 1600’s. You have to duck through the doorways and my husband could not stand up without hitting his head on a beam or the ceiling. Having said that, it was very interesting to stay there. Con- The stone pub floor was dirty and grassy as muddy dogs from the stream were welcomed inside. Food was very expensive and the breakfast was nothing to write home about. We choose the wrong week to be there. They were having a beer fest with live music and it was very loud with a lot of drunk people outside. By midnight, it calmed down thankfully. I think the hotel is really trying to preserve a historic building. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms clean enough. Had we come on a different week, we might have liked it better.
We have stayed at The Old Mill may times & since it's changed owners it still provides comfortable, welcoming & cosy accommodation. The breakfast is very good & large, freshly cooked but now quite an expensive extra. On the whole really happy with our stay.
The Old Mill is a lovely old English pub and a leisurely 10 minute walk into Salisbury along the towpath with views to the cathedral and wildlife on the way. The railway station is also an easy 10 minute walk.
The staff were great. The locals were friendly too happy to chat in the bar.
